Good morning. This is the first new header I've ever bought or inspected. I supposed I was expecting better build quality, having seen the ones that are on my current cars. Is this normal? My current problem is an exhaust leak at the flange; this doesn't inspire confidence that I won't have the same issue with this set. Thanks for the $.02. As always, if anyone knows a suitable alternative. The Stahl site says these folks bought their equipment, but they don't answer the phone or return calls: Datsun 240/260/280Z headers will be offered by: ProFab Aurora, OR 503-678-2948

Hello, Just looking for some info on the manifold adapter MSA uses for their exhaust. I've talked to them on the phone and they will sell it to me separately for $60, which I thought was very reasonable. I plan to get a custom exhaust (2.5") made here locally. Unfortunately after shipping, our recent crappy Canadian exchange this unit will probably be $100 to my door and I'm questioning trying to get a shop to make one locally but that will still probably be more. Inout on the quality of this thing?

Attempting to reconnect this pipe from exhaust mani to intake mani and I cracked it thinking I could just turn it a little to re-align it. Can I easily (cheaply) replace this, can I weld it, what's the deal with this pipe?

there are dozens of exhaust posts out there, but i couldn't resist adding to the mix... just finished rebuilding a good portion of my motor (n42 head, shaved intake, new injectors, etc. new cam chain/sprockets) and put on an msa 6-2-1 header. after reading up on other peoples experience i decided to have a local shop build a 2 1/2" system for me. we put her up on the lift and mapped out the routing - these cars are sooooo simple, just one run back and a couple of bends - but it's the little details that make or break it for me. went with alumanized steel piping to an 18" sst ansa resonator in the tunnel and a nice compact can at the back and a polished sst tip with a …

As per my previous post, last week i removed the following muffler which has 2" inlet and 2"outlet from my car due to its size and fitment besides the gas tank: Anyway, i swap this muffler for a smaller 14" long muffler with 1 3/4 inlet and outlet 1 3/4: When driving the car home i noticed the car had lost power and you could hear explosions under the car. I decided to park the car for a couple of days until i could take it to another shop where i found a Dynomax Super Turbo 2" inlet and 2" Outlet muffler. The car now gain strenght but according to my mechainic was running in 3 cylinders only with random explosion noise after shifting to 2nd gear. My question is Cou…

Just came back from an exhaust shop here in Panama, Central America where you cannot get any parts for classic Zs. Due to the lack of mufflers for this type of race cars they had installed the following muffler which did work well on my 1972 240z that was modified with a Far 311 Race cam: The car was running okay but due to the size of this muffler the shop had to force it in the small available space besides the gas tank and everytime i passed through a Speed bump it got smacked. In view of this issue, i returned to the shop after months and they decided to install a muffler used on Toyota yaris, and other small sedans. It looked better as shown here: BIG MISTAKE, no…

Well it's not done yet ,but the hard part is done ,I hope. I need to make a final decision on mufflers or just glasspacks. And the decision on tips-that's going to be tough. I can't wait to hear it run.

My luck. Waited too long and now they've up and retired. If anyone has a set of their round-port 1-5/8" headers they managed to order before they stopped and wants to sell, please let me know. Their stock is exhausted. Is MSA the only other suitable option now?

Yeah ! ! ! ! They finally arrived and some photos are posted ! (A few of many). Heres one of them and a "mock up" of a dual exhaust set up with a couple more. That chrome is SHINEY :classic: Some of you may have seem pics in the classifieds but heres some more once I got the use of this new camera down. I've been waiting on these for months and glade to of got em' now. I put one on Ruby already as a mock up since a new 6-2 exhuast line is going on later, and all that was needed was a 10mm bolt and lock nut on it and it hung on the stock mounting location like a glove I think they came out great More pics at this link below, multiple pics are diffe…

I plan to have a local build a twice pipe system under my car. I want something unique, thats got a nice throaty agressive sound. I was wondering if anyone has tried out a using chambered exhaust, especially if someone used it with twice pipes, but either way how it would sound with the inline six, I love what it sounds like with V8s but there a different animal. I heard it on a flathead straight six in a studebaker it sounded great but I'm curious if anyone here has tried or knows a reason it wouldn't sound nice.
