Can any one of you verify for sure that the old JDM Trust exhaust manifold will or will not fit on a LHD 240Z? Do any of you have the Trust header on your LHD car? I know there's some clearance issues for some of these manifolds but have also heard that the old Trust exhaust manifold will clear the steering column for the LHD model 240Z. I appreciate any info that may have. Thanks.

I finally have the MSA premium (aluminized) 2.5" exhaust installed in my mostly stock EFI '78, with a stainless steel Magnaflow glass-pack added as a mid-pipe muffler (rather than a resonator). The system uses my OEM exhaust manifold, rather than headers (which I don't particularly like). I also opted not to install the flex coupler that I was considering before. These are the parts: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10416 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PEC27/15-6304 I had Tidewater Z do the installation for me, as they had to do a bit of cutting, refitting, and welding. They did a nice job, although they were quite slow getting around to it. Total par…

I searched Courtesy Nissan's website and it looks like the L24/L26 square port header gasket, p/n 99996-e1044, is NLA. I'm bummed out, that was a really nice gasket, much better than the paper ones MSA is selling. Does anyone know of a comparable one available or a place which may still stock the Nissan Motorsports gasket?

FYI: In late November early December 2009 I purchased NOS front half of the original Suppersprint exhaust, in the hopes of finding the rear half. No luck I want to reproduce the rear half as close as possible to the original. If I get lucky I'll install the original rear resonators, but I'm not going to hold my breath any more on finding it. What I'm looking for is a good picture of the rear of the system. The best picture I've found is the ad posted on the forum Arne started (http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34920&highlight=supersprint). The problem with the picture is the resolution makes it hard to see what type of tip it has (flared, penc…

I have done a few searches on this, but not yet found the right answer. I have a rvs exhaust system on my Datsun 260Z. It was done by the previous owner and has 2 mufflers. (middle and end). it starts with a 6-2-1 header (recently installed) to a flexible that goes to the middle muffler. It then goes to a bend and the rear muffler. I dislike the sound cause it sounds "metal-ish". I wouldnt be bad if it were a bit deeper and more sporty. (but still within bounds) Is the middle muffler necessary, performance wise? Will it affect the sound upon removal? A buddy of mine told me, if you just alter the end muffler, you will get the sound you need. If I can , Ill take a picture …

I have a 73 240z. I am looking for a header to replace older rusty warped header. I ordered a Pacesetter from Black Dragon(Victoria British). When I placed the order they asked me whether I needed square port or round port. I advised them that I needed square port. When I received the header, it has ports 1,2,5,6 as round ports and 3,4 as square ports. I called back to Black Dragon and asked them about the difference and they told me that is what they had. I had them look at the catalog that clearly shows the gasket with all square (the gasket ports are the same as the header they sent me) and they said that it must be a misprint. I then called Pacesetter directly …

Hey guys, I've been asked about long tube headers for LSx powered S30's several times. There are those that have the skill and have successfully made their own, but don't seem to want to reproduce them for profit. Due to the frequent questions on the subject to myself, Hybridz, LS1Tech, etc I have decided that if there is enough interest (5 or more sets) I will build a prototype set and have them copied/reproduced for resale. These will be made of stainless steel with 1/2" header flanges, 1 3/4" primaries, 3" collectors, O2 bungs in each collector, and use a V-band for the collectors (leak proof). All welds will be TIG'd. If these go into production these will offer excel…

For those that have seen my car before, they know my old muffler was not very well installed (by myself in a rush against the dark), and wasn't really giving me the tone I wanted. This is not to say the Flowmaster didn't sound good, it was just not the tone I was looking for. A couple months ago I got my hands on a lightly used Magnaflow and decided it was going on the car. Today I finally had a chance to put it on the car and I am really happy with the results. It's much less boomy and 'drone-y'. It has a nice smooth tone with some raspiness. Off throttle sound is great, though the flowmaster gives it stiff competition in this department. I am still running the short gl…

I just bought a 79' 280zx a couple weeks ago. I'm still in the restoration process. But in the near future I'm hoping to get a better aftermarket exhaust set. Any suggestions?
