I'm steadfastly trying to restore everything on my 280zx to original stock condition as much as possible. And, the restoration crew is putting things back together now. I have attached two photos of the brake line that's under the engine compartment and I'm trying to determine the original color of the brake lines. Can any one help with identifying the original color of the brake lines? It looks like the brake lines have a green-ish color. The white spots are probably from dampness and corrosion. Engine an drive train are out. Yes, they already scratched the new engine compartment paint job. But, do you have any idea what the original color of the brake lines ar…

  2. With today's gasoline, should I revise the timing curve for my S130 1981 280ZX? If so, can someone provide appropriate information? My plan is to use 91 Octane fuel without additives. I can get it here locally. Engine is designed for "Unleaded Fuel Only" as labeled outside of the fuel filler.

  3. I had my L28 engine on my 81 280ZX freshly rebuilt. I am reaching out to the community to see if it is good to use 0W40 or 10W40 full synthetic oil on a fresh rebuild?

  4. So after reading the schematic, trying to make heads or tails, I finally figured out how to make the power antenna work like factory with an after market stereo installation. Hopefully the back of your (new) radio has an "antenna control" wire included. This antenna control wire should be butt spliced into the (factory) green wire that goes into the factory radio. On my 82 NA car it was on a 4pin plug that had only 3 pins used. Next, the (factory) antenna control 4pin plug with only 3 pins, "Blue"," Blue and Red", "Blue and White" that is connected the antenna button for short range or long range (skinny switch with an antenna symbol). The "Blue" and "Blue …

280ZXT ready to install my diff up under the car--with the new OBX unit installed--question is should I install the c rings into the differential spline groove then the axles or put the c rings on the axles first.? When I removed the axles the c rings stayed in the diff grooves. Thought I'd ask someone that's done this a few times before I get this heavy unit up under the car? If rings should go in the diff first I'd rather tackle this on the floor. It was a bear getting the axles to break free of the rings. Thanks Dave

Has anyone come up with a simple fix to keep the lap and shoulder belts connected? I have a helluva time with mine, annoying way to start off a drive. I thought about a thick small rubber washer like for faucet repair. Drill the hole out just big enough to squeeze over the little mushroom looking button on the latch. It has a off white washer now but it isn't thick enough to keep those two pieces together. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  7. Started by Josh Moline,

I purchased a used fuel rail with injectors attached to it. The seller didnt say if they were off of a turbo model or not. Is there a product number I can reference? Or any way to figure out if they are NA injectors? I pulled them off to have them cleaned. And I have a Pallnet rail coming in here soon. Thank you

  8. I never speak to this neighbor and I don't even think he knows who I am, but here's a picture of the car. I've never seen it move for 2 years and the tires look kinda flat. I'm kind of new to this but I think it's a 1983 non turbo 2 seater. Sent from my Moto E (4) Plus using Tapatalk

  9. The firewall pad on my 1981 280ZX has been cleaned by a fire restoration company but still smells musty. I'm looking to replace it but I cannot find it anywhere. It has the normal insulation WITH a heavy rubber backing. Does anyone know if there is a seller that has this kind of material in ROLL STOCK so I can just cut the holes myself and mold it to fit with my heat gun? Also, I saw ZUP's post and photos about floor deadener material that he bought from a Porsche website. Like ZUP, I'm trying to bring my 280ZX back to original stock condition. Does anyone have other recommendations for floor insulation / sound deadener? Looks like there is some very thin tarry …

I have a 1981 280zx and I think I have the sending unit plumbed correctly. But I don't think I'm getting fuel still. The right most line is the vent line. The middle is the send line and the left most is the return right??

  11. Started by Josh Moline,

I replaced my fuel rail and installed some green top Injectors into my 1981 280zx. When trying to crank it 6 puffs of smoke (one per injector) came out from the injectors ports. Do the injectors have little seals around them that I forgot to Install?? Im not sure what to do. I did notice a gap between the hole for the imjectors and the Injectors themselves. Any ideas?

I have been searching for a 280ZX Fuel pressure Regulator and with the exception of one for $200 - $500 I can't seem to find one. The Beck/Arnley 158-0091 model seems to be out of stock every where I check. Can anyone help me out and either direct me to a vendor or sell me one. Thank you.
