Just replaced my broken headlight washer pump in my 10th Anniversary 280zx, the new pump is working but no spray is coming out- Have fluid in the container and hoses connected and not leaking - any suggestions??? Thanks

I finally bought the Z car I always wanted (well I can't afford a 240) a 1979 280ZX (which was the year I went in the Navy and while other guys had Z cars I had a 1974 Ford Country Sedan Wagon . Just drove it home and after running fine for about 20 minutes when I got on the freeway it started to "jerk" by losing power going up a slight incline and then surge back gradually going from 65 to 40 mph. I tried to nurse it home but it got worse until it was doing it on the level road and I finally pulled over and got a tow. Called the guy I bought it from and he suggested the fuel filter which looks new (he took the car on trade) but I'm going to go get one and replace it. …

Hi Guys this is my 1st post in the forum. I really don't have any good suggestion for my question! I decided to buy LUK clutch kit which fit to my car 1980 280ZX but the flywheel not included in the set I made a search and I didn't find good flywheel. I found aluminum light weight but my friends didn't recommend it. I found Sach flywheel which is fit to 1980 280ZX 2+2 . its different than base 280ZX what do you guys recommend? I am thinking to buy 1980 280ZX 2+2 clutch kit and flywheel and fix it to my 1980 280ZX will that work?

Alright so I traded a blaster and a kx 80 (kx was taken apart blaster wasn’t terrible) together worth around 1300 or 1400. The Datsun has nearly no rust at all only spot of rust is on top of the window. No rust anywhere else at all it is pretty clean for a 280. I’m not sure what’s causing these but the trans leaks just a little. Something in the rear clunks if you are not shifting it easy and sometimes does it when you start moving in reverse. Just received my 240z and u unfortunately i was not made aware of the issues it has. He seemed to be an honest guy but i guess he took advantage. My lights, wipers etc.. do not work. I am based in Toronto. Is there someone that can sort this out for me. Come by, take a look and provide me with a quote. Thanks

The PO of the parts car whose engine I'm in the process of disassembling/rebuilding has painted the intake manifold blue. Its not a half bad idea, but over the years it has chipped and the intake ports have quite a bit of crud on the inside. I have no experience with parts baths and the like. Hi I just bought this 280zx. the owner let it sit for ten plus years. The interior is shot, the paint needs redone and I've yet to get it running. The fuel pump doesn't seem to be kicking in and the starter is out of there for sure. No oil or gas on plugs. So that's good. Definitely a project. I have no experience with EFI or turbos so I'm trying to learn as much as possible before I start tearing into it. So I have a few questions about suspension upgrades. EFI upgrades and so on. I have yet to find a EFI upgrade that's plug and play for the turbo L28 motor. This is going to be a tear down to chassis and rebuild project. I'm wanting to ad some modern touches to the inter…

In my box of 240Z extra parts I came across this speedometer which I know is not from a 240 and I have no recollection of how I came to have it. Was wondering if anyone might know what Z it belongs too. There are no numbers on the speedo, just some barely readable Kanji letters. There is a number on the wiring harness which is: 11660-AJ5000, Japan, G23. Thanks..... George

I didn't want to hijack the recent thread about Shell Rotella oil that had started moving away from the Op's topic. So I thought I would ponder this in a new thread. About 3 weeks ago, i switched from modern conventional 10W30 oil to Valvoline VR1 conventional 10W30. This oil was added at the same time i replaced my clutch and replaced some engine oil seals. I'm wondering if the higher ZDDP content of this oil and it's added friction reduction properties have contributed to the drastic improvement in gas mileage or the more efficient(new) clutch set is the culprit.
