I have an R200 diff from an 83 zx that I'm rebuilding right now, going to put an OBX limited slip unit in it. I ordered replacement diff axle bearings online from autopartsway and they sent the wrong ones, they sent the wheel bearings. I have sent them the proper parts number, Nissan 38440-N3100 or NSK-RHP HR30209J but they don't believe me, they want the VIN number for the car. Well, I don't have the car, I just have the diff. Can someone loan me their VIN so I can get a refund or the right bearings? I promise nothing will happen to your car, no Nigerian prince claim it as his. Thanks, Chris

Has there been a parts interchangeability book or info on the Zs and/or the ZXs covering what parts can be used on different year vehicles?

Does anyone know if heater box and control assembly from a 79 zx non turbo with air cond. will fit into a 83zx turbo with air cond.? They look pretty much the same but I know looks can be decieving sometimes. The 79 is in great shape with everything moving freely...The 83 not so much. I could recondition the 83 but it would be a lot less work if 79 will interchange.

I picked up a real nice 81 280zx turbo that has been sitting outside for the last 8 years at a tow yard. the car is in great shape other than I have had to go through the engine, but after getting the engine all back together and mostly back to the start up... there are 3 vacuum lines that i have lost the markings for them to where they go.....I was wondering if anybody knows where these 3 electrical solenoid controlled vacuum nipples Destinations go? This has been a great project car for my boy that My father had one of the first 300 71 240z's that came off the assembly line .... I would thank anyone that could give me the info on these 3 vacuum ports…

Was there another Datsun/Nissan car that used the same door latch as the 1980 280ZX? I've replaced the original on a friend's car because the cam that rotates around the strike post would not engage. As a result, the door won't stay closed. The replacement bought on Ebay barely lasted a week. I think the same thing happened with this one. I came across a YouTube video where someone had the same problem. It looks as if these things have a tendency to fail the same way. Whatever makes the cam stay in position when the closes seems to break. I'm hoping there were other cars that used the exact same design because sources for 1980 280ZX latches is pretty limi…

Does anybody have spring rubbers from a Z31? The cars were shipped to dealers with rubber pieces in the coil springs. These were to be removed before delivery to the customer, although many cars left the lot with the spring rubbers still in the suspension. Thanks, Alan

Looks legit to me. Would take more than that to restore one. http://www.legendarymotorcar.com/site2/listing/1982-datsun-280zx-for-sale/?utm_source=Email_marketing&utm_campaign=Wednesday_July_22_2015_-_1_2015-07-22_1982_Datsun&campaigner=1&utm_medium=HTMLEmail

Is the 15/16ths brake master cylinder supposed to be the primary ( front brakes) closer to the firewall with the larger reservoir and the smaller reservoir away from the firewall feeding the rears?

So, as mentioned in another thread (http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/50200-83-280zx-wont-start-wont-fire-just-turns-over/page-4), my Z is doing something weird. I recently had intermittent starting problems and I finally purchased a rebuilt Cardone distributor from Rockauto.com. So far so good it seems to be starting, but I noticed it started accelerating weird. First off, what I experience while the engine is "warming up" is largely different from what I experience after the engine is hot. The below is confirmed as it's happened to me twice. While the engine is warming up: At idle, if I press the gas pedal, the RPMs move up fairly smoothly (as smoothly as they could…
