82 280zx. Ran nicely until it didnt, then I replaced the fuel pump. The gas was bad (dark, smelled of varnish, sat for 10 + years), I ran it with the bad gas for a while (10 mins at a time, around the block once), then it just stopped. Pumped out 95% of the remaining gas just north of the fuel filter, then replaced the fuel filter. Put in new gas. Verified it has spark by pulling a spark plug. Pulled off valve cover to try to inspect timing belt, discovered it has a timing chain. Put valve cover back on. Pulled the injector closest to the firewall, noted the plastic ring that serves as some kind of over-grown O ring (I guess) is broken, verified some gas is squirt…

My dad purchased a 1982 Nissan 280zx 2+2 about 10 years ago and recently it has come into my hands. It’s in decent shape overall, but could still use some work. I personally don’t know much about cars, but am willing to learn. I’m posting this to a few Z Car related forums in hopes of finding people who are willing to help me get it back in the shape I would like to see it. I saw some classifieds in the 240k section but not here. My apologies if this is not allowed. Last week I picked up a parts car... Short block, heads and transmission are not for sale. T-tops and roof are not for sale. The body is straight with supposedly new bodykit and prepped for paint but the frame and floor are toast. hello im new on this site and have just brought a very tidy 1980 280z (looks like the zx) (car had only done 6500km in 11 years) i drove it 700km home with no issues but the next day it just wouldnt run right. was running on 3 or cylinders. after finding crap in the tank had gone thru the pump and filter, the injectors we blocked. they were serviced and new pump and fuel reg replaced but now when you give it a bit of a squirt it gets to about 3500 rpm the car dies and makes a pre ignition bang in the engine bay. plugs are black. i have also changed plugs,leads,coil,rotor and cap. still runs rich. im just about to give up but thought i would ask around to see if anyone has…

New guy here so please be kind. Just got a 79 280zx for FREE. I noticed it has a crack all the way through the rubber boot between the mass air flow to the throttle body. No new part available, can't find one used. I don't have much money right now but would like to buy a used rather than repairing mine. Any idea's????? I went a little crazy in 2013 and ended up with three new to me 280ZX hardtops. The first one I fell into came from its original owner out of Sacramento, Ca last June. It had been sitting since the late 90's and only had 104k miles on it. It is known as the blackout package according to the window sticker that came with the car. Other than the blacked out window moldings it also features the beveled body molding found on the European and Japanese market S130's. One of the things I enjoy about these blackout models (my second one) is the lack of power steering and the R-180 differential and tall 5th gear. I have a 1981 280zx turbo I have had electrical problem since I got it I've posted a separate thread about this but nobody really knows the turn signal fuse blows instantly the dash has. Been messes with someone put a terminal strip in but I don't think that's the problem all the wiring from the rear lights up to the dash is intact and has not been messed with so that's good. But when I have key in and on position the fuse blows instantly and when its in and not in on position it gets very hot but when we unplug turn signal switch it doesn't get hot or blow I am so sick of this problem I wanna fix it please I need someone's help and if there is anybody in the Wisconsin ar…

I was just wondering if anyone else was having trouble "viewing" their garage when they click the "My Garage" button. I can get to my garage from the garage list of all the vehicles on here, but that option seems to not be working. They may have taken that link out while the site was down. Hey guys. I know I haven't been on a awhile but its because I have been busy restoring my Z. I finally got all my body work and painting done but I've ran into a problem. I cant find any 10th anniversary wreath decals for my car. I was hoping some of you guys knew where i can find some, or if i can get a good picture of them with the dimensions. I think i could find someone that could make me some if i could just get a good picture and the dimensions. i will post pictures soon of the whole restore process. Thanks in advance.
