I've been trying to restore my brothers 1981 280zx it seems that the mass air flow meter has went bad. (well im guessing thats the problem.) I've cleaned the gas tank, put a new fuel pump in it, new fuel filter, rubber gas lines, sparkplugs, cut out the catalatic converter, adjusted the timing, new coil, and a new air filter, but it still wont idle and run right. ive ran a full tank of gas with injecter cleaner out of it so im pretty sure its not the valves or injecters. somtimes it backfires and sometimes it just quits. doesnt have the power to climb the hill to get it out of my driveway witch is a shame because i just put new tires on it. Can someone confirm that this i…

Recently at a local car show, a guy came by to see my S1 240Z and asked me if I was interested in buying a '82 S130 Non-Turbo Coupe. I have an idea of what it's worth, but the fellow mentioned a price that was much higher than what thought it's worth. What would you pay? Here are the details and pictures: Vin #JN1HZ04S9CX462074 Starts, engine runs well. The clutch seems frozen, but that's fairly normal for a car that's been sitting 6 months in Florida. Good paint. Minor surface rust underneath, but no rot. Interior needs work. Window film is bubbling. The bad: a branch fell on the roof and hit the hood, there are 3 minor dents (1 on the roof, 1 on the hoo…

I had a "little" fire in my Z car sometime last week. A solar battery charger sitting on the dash with the wire run through the windowframe to the battery... Apparently the wires got pinched. Ruined the windshield, damaged the seat, and the passenger door trim. Corner trim piece on the dash destroyed... Took me a good three hours of scrubbing the inside of the car, windows, headliner, etc of all the soot. It'll probably have a faint air of charcoal forever... I'm looking for replacement 280ZX passenger door trim, BLACK, if anyone has..... passenger seat's just gonna get some duct tape... The amazing part is the entire car didn't burn. There was a can of starter fluid …

Hey guys! This is my first post here! I have a 1982 Datsun 280zx. It isn't in very good condition. The floor is rusted. There is no passenger door, rear hatch, of hood. It hasn't been driven for over 10 years. Where the the t-tops are there is rust. What would be the most financially wise decision, to restore mine or buy a fully restored one?

I have a 1985 300ZX that needs a good home. I do not have the resources to restore it and do not want to just scrap her. Contact Joe at majikhandsus@yahoo.com.

I haven't seen the car in person. The guy supposedly bought recently and his wife went batcrap. He's asking $6500, 66k miles, non-turbo, lots of records. It's in Va beach Va. An office mate's girlfriend's friend is spreading the word. If you might be interested let me know and I'll send a phone number.

I learned a new trick yesterday thanks to ALLDATA. I had never heard of this one but it works really good and it's easier than the test procedures in the FSM. The full test requires a gas anaylizer for complete and acurate results but you can test the O2 function without it. This is word for word curtesy of ALLDATA: 1) Disconnect the oxygen sensor pigtail and connect a high-impedance VOM with the positive lead on the pigtail and the negative lead to a good ground. 2) Start the engine and let it warm up, if equipped with an air injection system, disable the system so as not to get false tailpipe readings. 3) Grab the disconnected wire that goes fron the oxyg…

I was sitting around thinking and I realized that i have never posted the story of how I acquired my beautiful 10th Anniversary edition 1980 280zx. It started when i was 15 years old, my dad and I was on the desktop searching craigslist for an affordable Jeep Wrangler. (At the time I thought I wanted one.) As we were scrolling through the listings there happened to be a candy apple red 1977 280z. It was love at first sight. I immediately dialed the number listed and scheduled a meeting with the owner at the local QT. That night I got down on my knees and prayed "God please please please let me have a Z car." The next day after school my dad and I met the owner and test dr…
