My recently acquired 1980 ZX is definitely in need of bushings through and through. Every piece of rubber is either rotten or gone. Right now the thing SEEMS to lean into a corner until something finally gets a grip or hooks up at which point it JERKS the car toward the inside of the turn. Takes a lot of finesse' with the steering wheel not to switch lanes or end up in the ditch. or maybe the rear end is winding up and finally grabbing... saw some post about rear bushing being a rite of passage for Z owners... Really feels like my new ride is trying to kill me. On a recent trip through Northern Arizona (Salt River Canyon, and Beeline Highway to Payson) I had pickup …

I have a 1979 280ZX 2+2 and need a replacement THERMO SWITCH sensor for the blower/fan on top of the engine. Without the blower going on after driving, the car builds up heat and developes vapor lock or something similar to it. If the blower goes on there's no problem, but most of the time it's not going on, and the blower itself is functional. It's the switch. Nissan part number is 21595-P8100. I've tried dealers and a number of Z-part outfits to no avail. Help!

Stock. follow up => what are a few good things to upgrade (as far as horse power)? (easy to intermediate upgrades, I'm still a noob at cars) I asked my friends who are mechanics and they tell me the same thing "Air intake and exhaust system" but what i wanna know is what parts specifically (I live in CA by the way) can i put in the 280zx? i just need a few re-directions towards sites that offer parts thanks

My neighbor just bought an AMX, and of all the things in the car were a 1979 280ZX sales brochure, and the Monroney label for the serial number listed above, sold to North Freeway Datsun by Nissan Motor Corporation. There is no way to track activity on a pre VIN car in Nissan's system, so if anyone around here had this car and wants the label, let me know. It looks like it went through auction in Dallas earlier this year, with the original bill of sales and about 63k miles on it according to info on this site: http://www.collectorcarfactslive.com/main.cfm?p=SalesCatalog&l=en&ITEM_ID=475855&EID=3102&CurrentRow=15&LayoutID=230 Please pass this along if …

Hey everyone, My name is Chris I recently bought a 79'. I work on it when I have time. I own my own business fixing wheels so I don't have alot of time, but I hope to get it where I want some day. Here's my daily: It's a 91 Toyota pick up I purchased for $400 a few years ago, I love the **** out of it. When I bought it: Where it is now: I put a fiberglass kit from a trophy truck on it, lowered it 4in, I have reverse widened steel wheels on it, put a cap and rack on it, put an exhaust on it, swapped the bench seat for 4runner buckets, swapped out the front headlights for spot lights cuz some asshole hit me. Little stuff here and there. Here is the car I sol…

Hello Was wondering if any one out there had interior parts for a standard 280 zx, Ive contacted several people on the classified adds and it seemed as though they were going to sell me parts, but when it came down to it, just kinda got left hung out to dry so to speak. Im trying to build this one up on a tight budget, so going to the zcarstore is a little on the high side for me for what i need. If anyone has interior parts that they are looking to get rid of, feel free to e-mail me. Thanks

Does anybody have an image file of the 280ZX logo alone? Preferably black and white without reflections or anything. I've been looking all over the place, but I haven't been able to find one. Thanks!

Hey guys, I found a nice '83 280zx NA coupe on a used car lot today. Stopped to give it a look and it was actually pretty nice with only 88k on the clock and from the condition of the car it looks accurate. I could not find a spot of rust on the car. It still had the original paint with clear coat starting to show its age on the hood. I checked around the windshield, fenders, doglegs, quarters, floorpans and under the battery and no rust. The owner of the lot said he sold the car new to the owner back when he worked for the local Nissan dealer. The owner is asking $6900. The interior is in pretty good shape with only a few small cracks in the dash. What do you think…

Will a 280zxt exhaust fit onto a 280z with a L28ET? if not, does anyone know of a good source rather than having a shop make a custom one?

Hey, all! Well, this is a new one for me. Last night as I was driving home, the engine started bogging out when I hit about 2500 RPM. I drove almost the whole way home at 2250 RPM and 50 MPH. This morning, I started the car and headed for work. The engine revved up fine. There were no issues - UNTIL the car reached operating temperature. After reaching temp., the car bogged out at ~2500 RPM all the way to work. As I came home, same thing. The car runs fine until it reaches operating temperature. Here's what I've checked. Please let me know if I'm missing something! Fuel pressure: Normal. I upgraded the FPR in February of this year. Gauge reads fine... Fuel delivery: Good.…
