I have this parts car that i'm trying to get going, to verify some parts and stealing some others. It starts right up even cold. That was a project. When cold or warm, I can't get the idle down. I have the TB screw all the way in. Timing was advanced all the way, so I retarded it some. Can't find any vacuum leaks except one, two injectors I know are sucking some air. I swapped AFM no, change. Checked AIC and even manually plugged it just to be sure. Checked all my vacuum lines, brake booster, etc. I just can't believe two injectors could cause that high of an idle? If anything, I would think that would reduce idle. Thoughts. Could a stuck B…

What's going on guys. I've got a 1979 280zx N/A 2+0 and I don't have much experience when it comes to e-brakes and its components... I need to know if I'm missing a part where the red circle is on the picture. I have the cable itself but I have no clue what the part in the picture screws into.. I read the FSM and it shows that there's supposed to be an equalizer there but I just don't know if I'm overlooking something stupid. I just bought the car from a guy who took great car of her and he did say they took off the e-brake when they were replacing a half shaft...? Do you really need to remove that?....oh well.

Happy T day to all. I finally had time to play with new toy today. I took off the AFM and removed the cover. It looks clean and wires solid. Cleaned out the soot, in the body and checked for smooth operation. Also cleaned connector and pins. I put on AFM but left off the cover so I could move by hand. When I move the unit towards the + side the rpm drops like it should. When released it goes back up to 2000 rpm. I'm thinking maybe it's not getting a signal to move the spring ? I let the engine run for several minutes. Also the AAR thing at 70 degees when you look down the tube is about half open? I read that someone was making a manual controlled AAR. Any …

Have an 88 300 ZX non turbo Coupe. Automatic. Couple of months ago there was a SEVER hesitation., lurching, loss of power. The speedometer stopped working went to zero. Pulled over had towed. Once at shop problem stopped. Happened again couple of weeks later. Mechanic saw and said was a cable to the transmission (speed sensor cable). Ordered replaced worked for a while and then started same problem. Progressed once to the point the speedometer going from zero all the way to 140 and would then "flicker" all while at a stop light. During this same period I have had the transmission tend to slip and rev up and slowly engage the gear (similar to a failing clutch) and confiden…

I recently had a problem getting a 83 turbo Z. It has a Crane Fireball ign. system, and I was thinking no start was related to a faulty component in this system. Turned out to be no power to CAS due to bad connection. As soon as I fixed this she started, and ran, athough not so great. I have installed new plugs, wires, rotor, dist. cap,and air filter along with oil change. Now she starts, and even idles decently except at around 1500 rpm instead of 750 rpm. When I actuate throttle, she backfires and dies when cold. If I let her warm up decently, and then hit throttle, she will still backfire,{ through exhaust} but she will stay running. I should also mention that gas tank…
