I am refinishing my dashboard on a 280zx and want to remove the rear defog panel on the bottom left of the dash. Does anybody know how to remove the two knobs - one for the rear washer/wiper and the other the interior light rheostat?

I don't know if this is the right place to post, but I recently put a harness in on my 79 S130 and now the rear seat's effectively useless. I don't know what use the single seat would be to anyone, but if you want it get in contact and it's yours for the price of shipping.

Anyone know where I can get replacement cushions for my 83 NA 2+2? None of the regular Z car part suppliers seem to have them. Nissan dealer is worthless on older cars. Tried to contact Nissan about the now defunct Vintage Restoration Program with no luck.Took the car to our best local auto upholstery place and they indicated that it would be difficult (if not impossible) to shape new cushions in the correct shape because the stock ones have bands built-in to make them hold their shape. My covers are in good condition - just need the pads underneath. My car has the velour upholstery if that makes any difference, and I probably only need the front seats since no one would …

I am restoring my '82 2+2 and looking for a supplier for the exact material used in the originals. Many of you are aware that in the top section which is suede has the ZX logo in it. I was hoping to find some of the original material or someone reproducing it. Also, the lower part would be nice, although I've found some close colors. Fortunately, my rear seat is in great shape, but if I can't find the perfect match for the front seats, I will need to redo the rear seats. Appreciate any help.

Has anyone come up with a simple fix to keep the lap and shoulder belts connected? I have a helluva time with mine, annoying way to start off a drive. I thought about a thick small rubber washer like for faucet repair. Drill the hole out just big enough to squeeze over the little mushroom looking button on the latch. It has a off white washer now but it isn't thick enough to keep those two pieces together. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The firewall pad on my 1981 280ZX has been cleaned by a fire restoration company but still smells musty. I'm looking to replace it but I cannot find it anywhere. It has the normal insulation WITH a heavy rubber backing. Does anyone know if there is a seller that has this kind of material in ROLL STOCK so I can just cut the holes myself and mold it to fit with my heat gun? Also, I saw ZUP's post and photos about floor deadener material that he bought from a Porsche website. Like ZUP, I'm trying to bring my 280ZX back to original stock condition. Does anyone have other recommendations for floor insulation / sound deadener? Looks like there is some very thin tarry …

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying an '82/'83 280ZX turbo and was wondering about seats. I saw this ad on CL of a "heap" that appears to have S30 seats in it. I like the simplicity of the S30 seats. Do they bolt up, or is modification required? Here's the CL listing: https://houston.craigslist.org/cto/4780028494.html Thanks! Sarah

Gas Strut Specs.pdfI wanted to pass on some information about heavy duty struts for any ZXR owners looking to replace your weak or worn out hatch struts. I have tried a few different standard struts with less than desirable results due to the weight of the hatch with the whale tail most struts are just not the right capacity rating. I have found that the capacity needs to be a minimum of 70lbs. The original struts (Nissan #99996-R8004) I believe have an 80lb. rating. I have attached a PDF with the specs. I found that work well. Enjoy the ride! Phil

So, i'm sitting at the Pilot pumping gas right, and this guy in a honda ridgeline pulls up at the pump behind me. i'm standing there, and he says 'excuse me young lady, is that your Z?' i replied with the obvious, 'yes sir she is.' he walks up and shakes my hand and introduces himself. turns out he owns the winery that is statewide famous, and based in my town. Anyway, long story short... he proceeds to tell me how he has owned 2 Z cars, and that he was in the attic getting the christmas tree down a couple months ago, and that he came across a couple things from one of his old Z's, and said that he'd been riding around since then with them in the compartment of the bed of…

There are dash caps available (on EBay) to cover my cracked 1983 Turbo 280ZX dash or I can purchase a "refurbished" dash for $1800.00, and trade in my old dash. Has anyone had experience with dash caps? They glue on. It just does not sound right to me. Thank you.

Guess it's the teenager in me coming out, but I had to upgrade the sound in "Cris". As with most of these cars, the stereo is pretty "roached" and the tape deck quit working last century, so right after I bought the car, I put an aftermarket Pioneer "SuperTuner" unit in it and drove it until the restoration. After I got it back from the shop, the only thing that wouldn't work was the radio. Come to find out the 1st "Jack@ss" I hired for the restoration (he wound up taking it apart, throwing all the bolts, screws, clips, taps, washers, etc, in a bucket, then calls me up and tells me "Come get it, I'm not doing it") got liquid in the radio and fried it. Anyway, I went t…
