1980 280ZX N/A. Stock except EGR delete. When connecting my ohmmeter to the TVS following the procedure set forth in the EFI bible, it is producing wildly fluctuating numbers when rotating the TVS clockwise to indicate the circuit is closed. Also, it is producing wildly fluctuating numbers when rotating it counterclockwise. I have 19hg vacuum at the booster, and 28psi fuel pressure at idle(engine at normal operating temp). Edit: ignition timing set to 12degrees BTDC My friend is coming by later with another ohmmeter. I will run the test again, but if I get the same results, would it suffice to say that the contacts inside are worn/misaligned? It is the TVS ty…

82 NA 280ZX. I have fuel, spark, but no power to fuel injectors. Crank angle sensor seems intact(wiring). Car has been sitting many years, has fresh fuel, no blockage in fuel rails. Other than Control Unit, what else will power fuel injectors? It seems hasty to pull the trigger on a new ECM, but as far as I can tell that seems to be the issue. I pulled the ECM out, seems clean, no obvious issues. Any thoughts?

I'm new to the site and tried to post the following last week. However, I think it showed up in my profile instead. In any case, if anyone can give me some advice it will be appreciated. I have kept my '80 280ZX stored at my mother's house and generally start and drive it every 3-4 months. Sometimes I have to use a little starter fluid, but usually not. Last week it would not start even with starter fluid (although it did start until the starter fluid was consumed). It appears that I am getting no power to the fuel pump. By connecting the fuel pump directly to the battery I have confirmed that it is working. In my manual I see 3 fuel pump relays, two under the hoo…

I have a 1982 280ZX Turbo drivetrain in 76 280Z. The stock ECU.number is A18-601-042. I have a chance to buy a spare ECU from another 1982 280ZX Turbo and the part number is A18-603-045. They are both 5 speeds. Does anyone know if these are compatible? TIA Sent from my iPad using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Every few months or so I'm pulling the TPS out of my N/A '80ZX to find tiny amounts of moisture built up inside causing a slight miss at a specific RPM(1600-1800). Once cleaned out it runs like a golden chariot. I live in the rainy pacific NW USA where constant moisture and cold fog dominate most of the year. The car has been daily driven for the past several months while rebuilding my Jeep, so its exposed to the elements. Has anyone found a decent way to seal or otherwise prevent moisture from building up in the TPS while still allowing for future removal?

I bought a 260Z that had a early 280ZX Turbo engine put in it. The car will starts and runs fine while it is cool out. Once it has had time to warm up it begins to have a miss a small miss..It now has started to stall for no reason. I let it sit and it will start fine. I have started with the basics Fuel filter, pressure regulator, coil, plugs, water temp sensor and checked and cleaned the connections at the ECU. At this point I have to believe that it is electrical that only happens once it has warmed up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate..

Ok as some of you know I'm trying to steal the 79 EFI to run on my 71. I've been staring at schematics for awhile, looking through the FSM Engine electrics and EFI sections of the FSM, but I can not figure out what the yellow wire from the body plug leading into the EFI relay does. The black and white and green wire are switched power. Assuming to run to the ECU and one to the Dropping resistors. I checked voltage to the yellow wire while the car is running and nothing. And nothing during cranking only and it's not going to ground. So I let it run and cut it while the car was running. No change. Turned the car off and back on no issues. The other thing I not…

I have a 1983 280ZX that has a radio that's misbehaving. It will not remember presets after being turned off for an hour or so. I have also noticed that sometimes the antenna goes up when you turn the radio on and sometimes it does not. I have been gone for two weeks and went out to the garage and turned the radio on last night without starting the car and the antenna came right up as soon as turned the radio on. Although my battery voltage was in good shape (12.3v) I decided to top the battery off with a trickle charge overnight. This morning I go back out with a fully charged battery (12.6v) and tried it again and the radio came on to the AM band (no presets) but the an…
