I have a 1983 ZX that had a clock with a display that would go dim and almost out, My first response was to replaced the clock. I found another clock and had a mechanic install it. At first it worked fine but after time it started going dim like the original one. On a hunch I took the original clock that was removed earlier and hooked it up to a power supply and it worked perfect, the display was bright as day and it worked fine. Now I am back to looking at a wiring problem in the console rather than the clock. I wondered if there was a way inadequate voltage was reaching the clock. My 80zx has zero power. I'm guessing the battery cable is corroded. I had connection issues with the positive cable previously. The fusible link is also shot. hello, I have a '83 280zx turbo. Me and my mechanic cannot find the cause of my Z to not start after running it. He said I'm losing the negative pulse from the injectors to the ecu but he cannot pin point it. The car wont start after you turn off the engine. It will only start after the engine has cool down for several hours. We already replaced the AFM, new distributor, new ngk wires, new fuel filter. We already checked the ECU and its working fine. Checked all the wirings, fuses, and relays, coolant temperature sensor, and still have the same problem of not starting after a good run when you turn off the engine. Need all your HELP please !!! Is any one out there knowledgable about the Crane Fireball ignition system? I have a 83 zx turbo I bought about a month ago.When I first got car, I had to tear dash and heater out and go through all wiring. PO had a dual battery system installed with fuel pump relayed through rear battery Ive got everything back as close to stock wiring as Ime able,not being too electrically adept myself. Ive got fuel pump operating through relay, as Iwasnt able to get power back to fuel pump through stock wiring, even though all relays tested good.Anyway, thats all solved.My problem now is that Ime getting no spark. So what I've seen so far is that this is a regular occurrence. When I bought the car the turn signals worked but as soon as it started raining they went out. The lights don't flash on the dashboard nor the outside. But when I turn my hazards on, they show on the dash and outside. What could this be?

So a weird thing has happened with my 1987 Nissan 300zx. Sometimes the headlights won't work properly. The drivers headlight works fine. The passenger headlights and the fog lights now go off and on randomly. The fog light switch indicator also turns off and on. Its so weird. The flip ups work perfectly. Its just that the passenger headlight and fog lights just don't come on most of the time. This is a really irritating problem. Note that the bulbs are not burned out. Its just that the passenger side headlight and the fog lights won't turn on all the time anymore. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and sometimes they flash on and off like a disco. My dome light is missing the lens push on mechanism that turns the light on when pushed. Is there any fixes for this or part replacement. Also, will the light still work without this mechanism from the door switches? The dome light assembly is all there, including the lens. The part that is missing is the part that gives the lens the spring action, in which I presume is a switch that grounds out on contacts on the dome light body assembly when the lens is pushed in. I can't find anywhere, a break down of the interior of the dome light assembly to see what that mechanism looks like. Thanks!
