I just picked these up from the original owner who said when he bought his 74 260z new it was a dealer option in CA. He still had his 74 in the garage. Anyway, from the research I’ve done Appliance was started in the 50’s and sold or transitioned to Japan for manufacturing. Mine say Japan on them. Does anyone know what year Datsun started offering these wheels as a dealer option? Luckily I got all 4 center caps too.

Hi guys. I´m located in Colombia, and it´s not easy to find parts for my 280ZX. I have been experiencing problems with the brake master cylinder and the repair kits i have found here. Looking everywhere I found a brand new Tokico 7/8 master cylinder that it fits right, and the seller says that is intended for the ZX, but the cylinder of my S130 is 15/16. The question is, is it posible to use the 7/8 one or not? One more thing, repair kits are universal, I mean, can be use on both Tokico and Nabco cylinders? Thanks in advance. Camilo.

Hi, A couple years ago I decided my Z needed suspension work. I took it to someone to inspect it and he made these recommendations for replacement: all 4 shocks, 2 lower control arm bushing, 2 ball joint, 8 sway bar bushing, 2 sway bar mount, and lastly 2 spring seats. It's been a couple years so my memory is a bit hazy but I recall I purchased everything except for the spring seat. I can't find it anywhere. He recommended that it be replaced because he said most likely when they go in there to remove the old spring the spring seat will most likely crumble. What's yalls experience with this? Is the spring seat made out of plastic/rubber or something? Also, can yall …

Hello, I am planning to refinish my iron cross wheels as one of my winter projects. I originally talked to two different powder coating companies and they were leery/doubtful about replicating the current two tone paintjob. In turn, I have decided to just paint and refinish them. Before I do, I have several questions: 1. Is it going to hurt the rims for me to sandblast them? If it will damage them, what is the best way for me to remove the current clear and paint? 2. Can anyone point me to the color names or color codes on the rims themselves? I'm hoping this will help with being able to actually find/match the correct colors without having the wheel with me. 3. i have googled, binged, and asked jeevs, but i cannot find a list of tire sizes that will fit my 280zx. it is a 1980 10th ann. so it has 14 inch rims. i really want the tires to look good with the car so any ideas on what fits without any rubbing or junk would be super!

I just had new ball joints installed on my ZX. WOW, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The old ones weren't DETECTABLY worn, you couldn't shake the wheel and say "oh, bad ball joints" even though the rubber boots were long gone. But at 200k I figured they were probably the originals.... Driving it with the new ones --- it made a BIGGER IMPROVEMENT to the car's handling than all of the other bushings and other pieces I've replaced so far - tie rod ends, sway bar links, etc. The car is actually starting to drive half-way decent now! I have a 1981 280zx 2+2 that rides on 195/70-14 tires with the stock 6 spoke wheels, 6 inch wide and 0 offset. My summer tires are 205/55-15 , 7 inch wide and 0 offset Compomotive ML wheels. I want to upgrade the brakes, especially on the front. The stock disc is 10 inches. I know there are options for the 300zx 10 1/4 rotor and larger caliper, then there is also the 12.2 rotor and larger caliper that is even stronger and lighter. I would like to know what is the best brake upgrade that can be made and keep the 14 inch wheels? Many tell me ditch the 14 inch but they look great in the car and I have brand new michelin tires on them. My preference would be to keep the 14 …

Took my '80 out for a drive a couple of weeks ago and when I hit around 40-45 mph, the steering wheel nearly shook out of my hands! My initial thought was "What the hell???!!!". I immediately pulled over at the nearest safe place to get out and look. I was trying to come up with ideas as I was walking around the car... "tire balance, tire separating, knot on tire, etc"... Couldn't see a thing. Felt like the right side of the car, but couldn't be sure... Ran my hands all around and over what I could feel... Nothing. Checked the other side... Same thing. Rear tire??? Hi everyone. Has anyone had any luck in installing a power rack and pinion seal kit? This car had sat up for two plus years and now the rack leaks from both bellows. Thinking of buying a seal kit for $62 instead of a $400+ rebuilt unit. Any advice?

I have a 79 zx black with red interior and in the back storage compartment was a new wheel cap and it is chrome like the ones on the car but the background color behind the z is gold metallic.. but of course there is only one.. It looks really nice and I would like to find three more and change out the ones that are currently on the car.. any body ever see these. I have looked several places and cannot find anything of the sort...
