When the car is idling at 1x it jumps to 1.5x then back down to 1x then back up to 1.5x then back down.any solutions?

I am currently building a custom MegaSquirt harness for my Mega Squirt III setup on my car. I build an adapter to interface into the stock harness to get everything up and running as close to stock as possible. Once I had that working well I pulled all the stock harness out and I'm just about done building a new harness to directly plug into the MS3 ECU with MS3X for sequential injection and distributorless ignition. It interfaces directly with the stock body harness so you don't need to cut your harness up and can easily return the car to it's stock form. The stock engine harness is basically garbage. Geeze... what a basket case this car has turned into. Its a 1983 turbo, federal, 5 speed. I got the car, and it had a stumble/hesitation/loss of power at light or part throttle pressure while in the 2-3k rpm range. Manifold vacuum at idle is 20, so no major leaks. Fuel pressure numbers are good. Cleaned the under hood and ECU connections. Did a tune up, ngk spark plugs, cap and rotor, pcv valve, fuel filter, new oxygen sensor. Swapped in a spare TPS. ECU rebuilt. Nothing, no change and the problem is still there. Try to cruise in 2-3k rpm range and you get loss of power/stumble and backfire in the exhaust. This car sat up for a couple of years. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cleaned injectors. I am getting good spark at the plugs. We had it running well several weeks ago. Since then I had to replace the clutch slave/brakes so I could finally drive it. Not it runs like crap. When I hit the starter it fires right up and runs OK for a minute then gets worse then dies. i have a non turbo 82 280zx 5 speed. I have done pretty much everything that can be done to it. It runs and drives amazingly. I just wanted it a bit faster. I have already eliminated the egr system and put a pacesetter header on it, I saw an increase of almost 20 hp. I am just wondering if anybody knows any good tuning tricks to get it to have a bit more power without spending a bunch of money. I heard there was a way to mess with the air/fuel ratio and get it to have more power. Does anyone on here know of this? In the great words of Ricky Bobby, "I wanna go fast"

I recently changed the fuel injectors on my 1980 280zx, and now it will not start, the fuel pump is working and there is pressure in the lines. The engine will crank and begin to turn but never fully turn. Prior to this the engine would start i'm at a loss, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have a 1982 datsun 280zx non turbo. It runs decent and idles great. I has decent power when i cruise around in town, but when i get outside of town and try to go fast, it seems like it has no power. It kind of sputters a bit, like it's running out of gas or something. I can put throttle to the floor and it just sputters. I put more gas in it but it still sputters a bit. Do I maybe need new fuel filter or pump. I also have a red warning light that turns on on my gauge cluster. It is supposed to be green and say OK. I have seen it turn green and say OK before but now it won't do it anymore. What does this red light mean? Also how do u tell if the injector wires are going …

I've got an l28et engine that has been sitting for an undetermined amount of time and in unknown condition. I poured some automatic tranny fluid into the cylinders to try and loosen things up and then put a bit more in a few days later. Today I tried cranking it by hand and I've run into a problem. Using a breaker bar I can get the crank bolt to move but it's pretty tough and the pulley doesn't move. I removed the bolt and it looked fine with no metal shavings on the thread (was looking to see if I was stripping the threads). Hi Gang, I’m having a bit of a problem finding supplier’s for three certain parts: OEM P30 crankshaft, OEM “Mâ€� Cam, and OEM hydraulic lifters. I’ve been searching on the web for days and in all the Z-car forums and either I’m missing something or I'm completely blind. I’m currently rebuilding an 82 L28ET that I’m trying to keep as stock as possible. The block is the F54, the head is a P90a with the hydraulic lifters, and the crank has "P30" stamped on it, and the cam has "M" stamped on the end. I’m open to sourcing parts from aftermarket vendors as long as the reliability & quality is the same or as close to possible as OEM. …

I have a 1983 280zx Turbo with a P90a head. The lifters are bad and was informed that i could replace the hyd lifters with solid rockers from a P90 head. I have done this but it seems really noisey...doing some reading I have found some people have said i need to change to the cam that comes on a P90 head...any info would be helpful. Thank you TM
