I plan to use this in my 75 280z. The oil gutter was broken, oil leaked out from the shifter. I am in the process of replacing the missing gutter, put on some new seals while I have it apart and examine the bearings and gears. Could use some help on the oil seal on the shift rod.

I am trying to get some help on finding a way to either fix my existing stock turbo charger (looks like may have some broken compressor blades, and is very sloppy in the bearing). any one know of a good stock replacement? I am not looking for an upgrade as I want to keep the orig EFI system intact. Hopefully a direct bolt in replacement. OR should I get it rebuilt? if so any recommendations for a rebuilder?

A little over 6k miles on a DSI stage 2 engine with FAST EFI, 14.5 mm o-ring type injectors, 123 Distributor, and a not so great exhaust header. Single gasket. Checked valve lash today with engine cold, followed by re-check with engine at operating temp. All in spec. Stage 2 cam with stock rocker arms, all other valvetrain parts installed by Eiji at DSI. Not by me haha. This video is taken with the engine running post valve lash check after about a 30 mile drive. Honestly, It's always sounded like this. Even before I sent it to DSI. It runs great, makes good power, has great compression and has no known issues. It broke in quick, and I don't beat on i…

Which way does the rear diff mount install in a 280zx? Looks like there is 2 ways it can be done, the right way or upside down.

I'm installing a Nissan OEM intake/exhaust manifold gasket. Haven't used one in years. One side of the gasket has wide metal pieces (tabs) around the exhaust openings. Do I install this side facing the exhaust header?

Hey guys, I'm kinda freaking out, I just blew my head gasket and my car was billowing white smoke and stuff, but the oil was still normally colored, not creamy. The head gasket had blow near cylinder 6. So I replaced the head gasket and then engine started up no white smoke and it was sounding beautiful. But when I started it, there was antifreeze coming off the timing chain (I started it without the valve cover on). I thought that was really weird, but I was an idiot and put the valve cover on and ran it for a couple minutes and then when I checked the oil was pure white. Is there anything that would have caused that besides a crack in the block or head. Did I miss somet…

I'm required by state law to install a CC on my 75 280Z. It was removed some time ago by a previous owner. Any idea what it looks like so I start hunting ? Thank you,

Hi Guys, I've got a question and i think i know the answer but not sure haha.. As i'm slowly ending the resto of my 280zx slickroof i'm considering a light flywheel on the L28. I think the flywheel and crank are balanced apart of each other as they can be bolted together on more than one way? (6) .. I was thinking of putting one of my spare flywheels on a lathe and get rid of a few pounds haha.. Looked at a Fidanza flywheel but i think they are to light! (and also expensive!) And another question is do i need to re-balance the thinner flywheel? Has anyone here experience with this? THanks! Mart.

Rock Auto says it's the right part but USA Standard Gear's site says it's for a Datsun pickup and makes no mention of any cars... I'm trying to make sure this isn't yet another case of confusion about the A/B/C models of the FS5W71. Hoping someone out there has ordered this kit before and knows for sure!

I'm walking a road many before me have traveled. The original distributor in my '80ZX has about a half inch of play in the shaft in either direction from a stationary position. The vacuum advance has been inoperable for about a year. I have been monitoring the distributor for some time, knowing that it is in its final days. Today on a drive, I noticed some hesitation, above that which is observed running a capped vacuum advance. Obviously I will not drive the car until replace it. Probably with the 1-2-3 Bluetooth distributor. The engine has about 800 miles in it since rebuild with mild cam. My question for the group is: Could I have possibly damaged my e…
