Well I decided to say to hell with cold weather, and I took the Z out today to play. It was 25 degrees this morning, but after warming up, she did great and seemed to really love the cold weather. The tires however proved to be a bit slippy. Every once in a while I have to drive her when I normally would not to let her know she is no garage queen! Plus I like to give the heater a workout. Get out and drive. Enjoy the Z! Today may be the last day you have, and what better way to spend it than on a fun drive!

This is now gone and is attached to the much more pliable rubber vacuum lines inside the car. I also changed out the lines from the white plastic vacuum bottle to those BS solenoids. Turned on the car and what do you know all the different vent locations worked! Now for the big one tomorrow. Putting in Johnsen's Freeze 12 and getting the AC working. Never done AC but talked to a guy who seems to know his stuff and worked on a lot of R12 systems back in the day.

Hey guys, I replaced Input, Output, and front cover seals today. Planning on putting into car tomarrow, can't wait to be able to shift into 5th. Swapped Automatic to 4 speed 3-4 years ago, unable to find a 5 speed at that time. It feels like I just did this, shouldn't take too long. Bryce

Took one picture of it off the car before I started. Two pictures with the cover back on the head. Decided to do this while I did my cold valve adjustment. It is not mirror finish but has a pretty decent look to it now. Now I want a non egr manifold to smooth down and polish!

Picked up a few items yesterday at Motorsport auto. Driver side door weather striping, billet alternator adjuster arm, headlight seals, and a couple odds and ends. Am impressed with everything especially the door weather strip. Took 2 minutes to remove the old one. cleaned up around the area good and the new strip went on almost as easy as the old one came off. This is the aftermarket one they carry. 34-1074A motorsport auto part number. The door fits very tight right now until everything seats in. Now i need to address the window rattle. Everything else is quite except the window. Not sure yet what is causing it but hopefully someone here in the forum does. Next project …

So guys/gals I just need to vent. I've been on the seach for a car for about two months now. Last week I went to look at a car that was on Craigslist. It was in pretty rough shape but it was a series on car and I talked the guy down to 700 bucks for it so I was happy we shook on it and I was to go back and pick it up this weekend. Had the trailer rented and have been buying parts all week to get to work on it when it got here. The car was sitting on 4 flats and the guy was to have his buddy who runs a local garage come take the wheels off of it and put some tires on it. Told me it wouldn't cost much since it was his buddy. So here are the new custom front control arms and the TC rod I am putting on our 240 race car tomorrow. I've drilled out a new hole 3/4 inches up on the engine cross member to give me a little better geometry.

After searching a searching for the right project. I found a 10/70 240z. Car is in rough shape needs a windsheild, and floorpans to be mostley whole. Ran two years ago when parked so I'm hoping I can get it running without much effort. Has four bolt carbs, vents in the hatch, and the 240z emblems on the b pillar so that makes it a series 1 right? Going to pic it up next weekend so pics will follow. The car does have strange bumpers that I haven't seen before look like standard bumpers but have extra rails on them that kinda protect the hood and tail lights never seen them before wondering if anyone knows if they were a factory option or aftermaket?

I tore the cover off my ECU and started the car(holding the ECU) I pressed on the circuit board in different spots and wallaah.The car died and the pump relay started clicking, I pressed again in the same spot and the clicking stopped and the pump,pumped up. It then would start. I did this numerous times with the same results. So I removed the ECU and hit the solder gun on all the joints around that area. Reinstalled and tried again. But This time the engine didn't die. NO More Clicky. I sure hope that fixed it... Sure sounds like it did, It also ran smoother . I also tore out the dash to fix Speaker,Speedo,Clock and radio. I helped the speaker now it doesn't rattle so …

been fighting a clicking fuel pump relay[no run]When lt doesn't click I can drive. But today I did some tinkering and when my relay started clicking I tapped on the ECM near the driverside foot, and it stopped clicking and would run.So I either have faulty wire connection or maybe my box is going bad[internal short] Found a bunch on Ebay for $60-150.

Over at z31p.com we have a thread called "What did you do to your Nissan/Datsun today?" or something like that. Just for little miscellaneous trivial stuff like this. I couldn't find any better place for this post so I put it here. I don't mind if it gets moved or deleted. I didn't put it in paint & body because...well t's not exactly paint & body the way it should be done... /shrug Typical Datsun stuff...rust patrol: Cowls aren't waterproof???
