I made the mistake of bragging to my Dad how good my '77 gas tank refurbish went and wasn't more than $50. Well he brought me a tank from a '55 series 2 Chevrolet truck he's restoring. WOW! That sum beach was rusted. 2 gallons of acid later it looks nice and clean inside. Tomorrow I'll seal it with Red-Kote because I'm about to drink at least a 12 pack then burn a Ribeye. Cheers!

Actually, my son bought the Z, I just co-signed. And obviously, it's a Z3. Very nice looking car and runs great. We did a little detail work and took some pics with the yellow 240. Sweet cars

Starting a thread to share the reassembly progress of my early 260Z after the rotisserie refresh.. I've posted some photos of the progress in various threads but want to consolidate this into one spot for the remainder of the process. This seems like the right place for it so here goes... After some major massaging, finally got the R/T Mount installed and the driver side rear suspension is hanging as well. Couldn't resist the urge to put a wheel and tire on it.

This morning was my first drive in my 240Z, in about eight weeks. It was very nice! Since I last drove it: new clutch and slave cylinder, trans fluid change (synthetic), new shifter bushings, brake fluid change, new Honda S2000 seats, new sound deadening and carpet underpad throughout interior, new fuel vent lines and fuel filler hose, new driver's side window and replaced broken rivets in previously rattling louvers. Very happy!

This was my first time pulling an engine alone and putting it on a stand. Fortunately, when I bought my 260 the guy threw in the car that he pulled the engine from that was running and put into my Z I bought. He gave me all the matching numbers power train to go back into the car, after I work on it of course. Thankfully for me, the OEM engine that was pulled, was all unhooked and not even bolted in. Now it's time for the breakdown and the rebuild. So far y'all have been very helpful on the books I needed for this job and they are helped me more then I can thank you for. I have posted PICS in my album to show my progression so far (I know it's small but it's a lot for…

http://www.fuelly.com/car/honda/cr-z/2012 Shows the fuel mileage bell curve for the Honda CR-Z I just picked up. You can check any vehicle, any year, or use it to track your OWN mileage. I'm not sure if there's a corresponding smart-phone app or not...... I thought I was getting worse than average mileage in my 1992 4-Runner, esp since I live at altitude 6500', but it turns out...I was actually doing GOOD compared to SOME owners. No repairs / investigation needed. Tip: You got a car with over 100,000 miles? Replace the 02 sensor(s) for 1-3 added mpg's. They get tired, they still work and won't set a code, but they simply don't respond as quickly to rich or lean condit…

Datsun's been running lean for a while, to busy (yes! finally work!) to fix it, lost a race against my neighbor's hot rod crx couple weeks ago. At least the mileage was good. Set mix today, don't know where everything's set, was just tweaking the idle screws and mix nuts etc til the flowmeter and push pins were right, so I'll have to go back and see where it's set. Took a ride, a huge difference, felt the G's pushing me back in the seat. Hope it's not too rich, don't want to foul the plugs, but didn't see any smoke.
