And since then have gone from this: To this! Removed diving board front bumper and frame supports, removed cheap tacky aftermarket foglights, changed the oil, and gave her a bath just in time for it to start raining! Next week I'm gonna see about bringing her down from 4x4 status. Apparently there are lift blocks on the springs. Why, I have no idea, but there's definitely something wonky going on under there. I have new shocks and springs on standby in case the reason the blocks are on there is because the factory suspension is shot.

This young girl stopped abruptly and I slammed on the brakes but did not have enough time and bammm tried to swerve out of the way so I caught the corner of the Z. Thank god I have some extra 280 fenders and hood since I have basic insurance on her right now but that will be deff. changing soon. and I just got her running good!! here are some pics of the 240 its not bad could have been a lot worse. ohhhh and the officer hit me up with a $120 fine for following to close. I looked at him and said did you see how long the skid mark was??? So I might have to fight that one in court ugh!!! anyway thats what I unfortunately did to the Z today.

I finally wrapped up a few projects on my '77 280Z. I bought the car to fix up/tinker with and eventually sale. However with all my other cars selling quicker than expected I now use it as a daily driver around town. On Saturday 2-11-2012 I repaired my door locks using the coat hanger wire method and posted a how-to doc for it with pics. I finished installing my new radio and door speakers. The car is definitely a budget project. I installed a Pioneer radio from Wal-mart that came w/2 6x9's and 2 6" speakers, all for $80. Since I did not want to cut bigger holes in the door I picked up a set of 4" Scosche speakers in the doors for $25. For a total investment of $1…

I started thinking about the 30 year race motor builder saying that the journals should be polished the way the crank turns and went back and did it again. I found a pretty simple way and am happy with the results. Also went to walmart and got a rifle cleaning kit for the oil holes. Worked great. Now all I need is the block back from machinest. I will have to find something to do until then (that's meant to be a joke as there's hundreds of things to do). Maybe I'll watch that football game everybody's talking about.

the E-12 80 upgrade was difficult because i had previously been set up for points so i had to drop my oil pump and move it over a tooth, sound much easier than it is but anyway. that's done and she's driving smooth much more power. trans gear oil flush, because i had no oil in it after swapping it in. its so much better to have a four speed than an automatic. radiator flush it needed it bad. hooked my heater core up its nice to have a heater installed stereo W/ 4" speakers in sun visors and 6.5" alpines on the rear deck sounds nice. dont worry i have extra sun visors. sanded and repainted my dash's metal vent thing new wipers 19 bucks a pop rediculous! and new plugs f**k …

got a killer deal on ebay. 200 bucks + shipping for a brand new set of door panels. the seller had no picture on ebay and it said 240z door panels. At this point you're probably saying "dumbass 200 bucks and no picture" BUT... i took a chance and it paid off. i researched the type of things this seller sold and it seemed to be all garage sale resale stuff. sometimes there are some real gems at garage sales opened the box today and to my surprise they were for the 280z. The same year as my car and they are pristine. still in the original datsun dealer plastic from a dealer in alabama.

Rather than let these threads go on forever as they do in some other forums, I thought I'd start new ones for separate generations for the New Year. Use these threads for short, Twitter-like posts, things that may not be worth their own thread. This one is for the S130s. Enjoy, and let's keep each other involved!

I just got some parts back from being cleaned. Strut assemblies, coil springs, spring caps, and brake calipers were hot tank washed. This not only removed the grease but also took the old exterior finish off the parts. Hope to get these off to my powder-coater in the next few days. The taillight trims and grills for both cars were media blasted. These are now ready to paint just have to wait when temps are where I can get the garage heated to 65 degrees to paint in it. The side marker light trims I spent about an hour with my buffer cleaning them up. [ATTACH=CONFIG]50069
