Well I've finally gotten to installing the felt channel for my driver's side window, so I have the whole door apart. I just wanted to let you all know that the old felt that ends up in the bottom of the door crevice is the PERFECT medium for retaining moisture. I had my [garage kept] Z out in the rain 5 days ago and as I pulled the old felt pieces out from the bottom of the door I could literally wring water out of it. While the resultant rust has not made it through the door, it is the worst rust I've seen on my car by far. I took a blow dryer and dried everything out, scraped and wirebrushed as best I could and vacuumed out whatever I could. I then rattlecanned the …

I have a 1970. The outside SS window trim on the door ledge has a fuzzy window strip stapled to the metal. Can this be replaced or do I have to try and find the whole piece? Mike

Hello all, Looking for some help on my door alignment. It was aligned goofy when I got the car but I figured I would get it fixed when I replaced the rocker panel. Now that I'm trying to align the new rocker panel with the door, it just isn't cooperating. <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/jepherz/Datsun?feat=embedwebsite#5625581697719456946"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ObTlnTAjVkc/ThIUv5uB1LI/AAAAAAAAA70/fgKsSkM7qPc/s144/DSC00924.jpg" height="108" width="144" /></a> <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/XPAtqkPJsU8JbO4DD94sWA?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-tyQfe48APOY/ThIU5pjPvbI/A…

I like the idea of a silver ZG with black flares, trimmings etc. Orange and also dark green with black trimming would also look nice. I've got some pics of other nice combinations below. I thought it would be good to get a thread going with a collection of nice looking ZG or ZG look colour combinations.

I've been prepping my 75 for paint and had pulled off the cowl several weeks ago, sanded the top up to 600 grit, but didn't really pay close attention to the underside. Yesterday took a close look and found (surprise, surprise) a ton of surface rust, there are 2 ?vinyl pads on it and were full of rust underneath, so today I will be treating that panel for the rust. This is just an FYI for yet another spot to check for rust on a Z.

This is going on the door and the rays will wrap around and meet under the racing stripe. I think all but the top two rays will hit the rear tire opening. AXIS POWER BABY!

I welded the fenders, shugar scoops and cowel together and made sheet metal filler panels which also got welded in. Took about a pint of marglaze, and finished with about a pint of featherite. I didnt do the metal glaze yet, that will come when the car gets stripped and painted this winter. Not a bad days work, if I do say so myself.

I have been looking for an air dam to replace the one I recently damaged on a parking bumper. It is black urethane and bolts up to the front valance panel. The Datsun/Nissan part number was/is 98300-E8100. I have attached a photo of the air dam / chin spoiler. I heard this morning that there is a company in the UK making reproductions for 180 pounds approx. (apologies; don't have the symbol for British pounds). Does anyone know what company might be producing these?

http://www.groupharrington.com/en/part/36/datsun-240z-and-260z-bumpers.html I was looking for the older style bumpers and and just said what the heck and purchased the pricey stainless steel bumpers. I found a local Z car guru that had the correct mounting brackets, and now it is time to install. I am in the procedure of installing just need the time. I sanded most of the rust of the old/new bumper mounts used some OSPHO (an acid) just for kicks on the remaining rust. Removed the old front bumper, bumper mounts, and the grill. Currently priming and painting the old/new mounts Here are some pictures
