Heres the story... I got all the paint off the car finally and theres a few spots that were rusted. My neighbor, whos been helping me the whole time confidently says we should braze the rust spots to save some body shop time, fill it in with metal instead of filler, etc. So I watch him do it, he shows me how to do it and I think all is well. I bring in some photos to work to show a guy who I know restores old 40's Willys to showroom condition. He laughs and says Im screwed cuz the brass will oxidize and bubble within a year and then eventually fall out. He goes on to explain the whole process. The spots Ive done so far are rear deck lid the rear corners above the deck l…

Hey guys. Found this online earlier tonight and I'm wondering if you guys have an opinion on it. By the looks of it I could in theory just cut out the needed holes and place the vents in. Has anyone used or had any experience with these? Jan

I have my panels off the back of my car to repaint them. I figured while I had them off for paint I would replate the plastic taillight surrounds. Has anyone had this done? What was the cost?

Sprayed epoxy primer last weekend. Need to spray a little more this weekend cause I ran out. Then time for some filler and some more sanding.

I removed my front bumper and do not plan on replacing it. Where do you think would be a good method of mounting a front tag?

Hi Folks, i'm finally back on my 73 Z resto after a year off replacing the roof on my house and a complete paint job last summer. (developed a leak and one thing led to another). I've decided to do all the cutting and welding myself so I bought a Lincoln mig welder and have done alot of practicing and I'm ready to get after it. My question is about the panel behind the doglegs that sandwiches behind the rocker panel end and the dogleg. Right side was completely gone and left side is mostly there but i need to trim off some of it. Does anyone sell the panel or do I have to make one myself? I have the doglegs and rockers from tabco, just wondering about this other panel, i…

I just received the right front door seal from MSA today (still waiting for the left one). I am unsure on the installation. Other than the three clips the end looks a little confusing where it meets the window seal and ss trim, do I use glue there? I am having a hard time finding pictures of this part properly installed. Anyone have pictures of this part installed from the factory or after restoration?

On my '78, I found a horizontal slot, about 30x120mm, on the lower back panel above the exhaust tip. It's behind the bumper, so I never noticed it until the bumper was removed. Does anyone know what it's for? thxZ

Found some black metallic that is real close to the 280z original tail light panel color. I've been cleaning these up, refinishing the screws, cleaning up the chrome, and repainting the plastic panels for a couple of weeks off and on. The last step was a quick color sand with 1500 and some fine cut buffing compound. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, however one of my chrome bezels is a bit faded. It will do until I find another.

So my recently acquired 77 came with the Interpart's hatch window louvers, aluminum painted black, the actual louvers are in great condition. When I bought it, one side wasn't locked down, and the PO said that he had used a small clip of a wire hanger to replace the little locking piece in the lock, but it fell out. The other side seemed 'locked' down, however it was glued in place with some strange adhesive. After removing most of the adhesive I was able to open the louvers, unscrewed them from the top. That being said the top strip or band with the screws on it to attach to the louvers is in perfect condition. The strip on the left side with the lock on the bottom is f…

Wondering if anyone has ever tried adding a support up underneath the roof. I have an early '74 that sat out in the snow for many years, and has a soft spot in the roof (stretched). I've searched and read all the posts on this, and I have a replacement roof available, just started thinking that it might be easier to beef up the roof than all that drilling, cutting and welding. I know the roof will need some bondo, just trying to keep it to a minimum, and think that strengthening it would be a good idea. Some kind of U- or hat-channel type framing came to mind (think modern car hood underneath), but that would obviously hang down inside and the headliner would have to wor…

Pleae comments on the quality, fit and appearace of windshield and tailgate glass weatherstrips from MSA versus factory items. There is a considerable difference in price between the two sources. Thanks, Fixitman
