Has anyone done any business with Restoration Specialities and Supply? I was going through their catalog and saw this item # AS1264, listed at $11.00 for an 96" piece. 9/16" wide X 17/32" high. I would post a pic but it would not work. With a piece for each side, $22.00 seems alot better then the $60.00 I have seen. http://www.restorationspecialties.com/

I am considering the big respray. Here is my issue. I have lots of tiny little things that bug me about my paint job. From 10 feet away the car looks fine, better than fine at times. But when I get closer the 20 year old respray it has on it now is not holding up in some areas. For instance, the back is not as shiny as the front. And I have many rock chips, and a tiny dent in the hood I want fixed. The paint inside the doors, trunk, etc is all great. Is it worth getting just the outside of a car taken down and resprayed? Is this a half a$$ed idea? Every time I detail the car I see tiny spots I want fixed. But I am a novice at any kind of real body work. Do you g…

I would really like to paint my car the specific blue in this picture. I am referring to the S30 in the pic. I've been to the Datsun paint code gallery and can't really be definitive if it's 903 dark met blue. Thanks for any info.

I have been wanting to fix this since I bought the car. Not sure why it is out of alignment. Perhaps shady assembly when it was repainted 20 years ago, maybe a fix from a fender bender did not go well. But I would like a stab at fixing this. Any advice? THe front fender just barely is on top of that door finisher piece. I wonder if this is just alignment issues, or if this is a sign things were not properly assembled years ago. Either way, I want this to be fixed. Now it may mean I will have to wait until I repaint it. I currently do not see any way to adjust that body panel.

I want to take my taillight panel off to paint it. Looks like when you open the hatch you have to drill out all those rivets. What does everyone use for hardware after that to reinstall?

I am starting to replace the driver side floor pan and noticed that the raised ridge where the frame rail fits is not in the old pan, its on the passenger side but not the driver. As far as I can tell the pan is the original. Would it matter if I replaced the pan from about 3" in front of the front seat mount to the firewall with a section of 16 or 18 gauge steel without ridges or drain holes?

I am starting to retore a '76 280z with my daughter and have a couple of questions: 1. Where can I buy a floorboard panel to go under the driver's side seat without having to buy the whole floorboard kit? I only have 1 spot of rust under the driver's seat and would like to buy a formed piece if possible - but not the whole kit. 2. Anyone ever do a roof replacement? I have a sunroof that I would like to do away with. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I have the original optional Dual Racing Mirror set (99990-00113) on my '72. The mirror on the passenger side door has become flaccid - every time the door is closed the mirror changes position. I've looked for a friction lock on the bottom of the mirror but don't see it. Does anyone have any ideas to keep the mirror from flopping around?
