While removing my rear bumper this past weekend I managed to break the bolts that hold the overriders (bumper guards) to the shock absorbers. This pretty much destroys the overrider as the bolt is part of a metal insert that forms part of the overrider (see picture below). I have a couple of questions: 1) Does anyone have a set of rear bumper overriders (bumper guards) for a 03/74 260z. 2) Has anyone had the same problem and managed to fix the old overrider. I was wondering if the stub could be cut off and a new bolt welded on. thanks

My '73 (being an Illinois car originally) has rust bubbles on the bottom of each door - I have no idea how deep the rust actually is. An additional problem with each door is a previous owner installed the horizontal exterior metal door guards (the ones that would accept the brunt of a car door smacking your car door) - instead of properly filling in the holes when he/she removed those protective strips, one can clearly see (when standing at angle facing the car) where the holes were. One last problem is where the window crank handles are attached into each door panel - I purchased NOS window crank handles to replace the crummy wood handled/chrome plated abominations (that…

so the time to shoot color on my car is drawing near. Problem is where to get the paint from. The local Wesco shop can get me paint but they seem to only want to sell me the most expensive brand ($400 or more just for the base coat, no reducer, hardener, just the base). They say they can order cheaper paint but they seem really tough to work with. So option 2: I have a coworker that says he has a connection that can get him paint at cost no other info than that. Option 3: there is an online seller called carpaintonline.com but info on brands is really spotty but there prices look reasonable, but I am suspect of this site as I can find no good or bad reviews of the company…

Has anyone seen the Atomic Orange on the Nissan Xterra? Is that a throwback to the old 918 orange? It sure looks close to me... http://lh5.ggpht.com/_HSVbGSBie_U/ScfGZ-wyMWI/AAAAAAAABFY/IH-7gR8iKzo/s400/IMG_1857.JPG

Dull paint 1 2

Hi, I recently bought a 240z and the paint on it is really dull. it hardly shimmers at all. It could either be old paint or a bad paint job. Is there any way to refresh the paint, at least until I have cash to repaint it? thanks! If it matters, it is a darkish maroon color.

Has anyone molded these fender flares? I bought a car that needs flares (previous owner tried to 'make his own' unsuccessfully - so I have some work to do) and like these, but would prefer a molded look. Of course, there aren't many pictures of this fender flare close up or at angles, so I'm still undecided that these are the right ones for me. Any other options for flares? I've found a few, but most have either no pictures of few pictures of the flares on the car. I would think this should be a no-brainer if you try to sell parts.... Anyway, here are some others I've found: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180522238707&crlp=1…

Hey guys, what's up, My name is Justin, but most of the Local Z guys have taken to calling me the ZDemon. I've been a member of a few other Z forums for the last couple of years, but this is my first time on CZCC. I've had My 240Z "The DemonZ" since 06/06/06, bought a 300ZX Vert from Ed Kelly at the Z Clinic back in June to replace my SUV as a Daily Driver. But enough about me, lets jump right into the issue with the 280Z. Here's the situation. Some friends came across a guy who was trying to get a shell out of his garage, and since they knew I was looking for one, they sent it my way. I saw a few pictures of the car, and did not see any rust, but did not know anythi…
