What is the coating on the fuel control linkage? Can a powder coating company replace it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought this was metal. Seems like this is plastic and getting very brittle where the old iron rusted screws were. I suppose this cannot go in the heating oven after powder coat? Do they sell reproductions of it?

So we've pretty much figured out how to tackle the floor pans, frame rails, and rockers (by replacement with Klassicfab panels), and there are a couple other patches around the body. But what is this particular area referred to as, how structural is it, and what are some good methods for getting in there and repairing? Would a simple flat section matching the profile welded in its place do the trick? Thanks in advance! Ben

Just got some parts back today, blasted and powdered. I think the yellow came out pretty nice. I am planning to powder the hood, front fenders and bumper cover/spaces same color as well. Rest cannot come off so I am asking the shop to just give me the paint code 😀 Next item would be to take out the suspension and powder it all gloss black...thought to share...

So I have the good fortune of being able to enlist some knowledgeable welding help from a family member, and will soon be diving into the repair of my driver's side floor pan and both frame rails. We also will be hopefully repairing a couple other smaller problem areas. I'm wondering: what other mods would be a good to undertake while I've got the interior out and the ability to weld? The car is going to be mostly driven for street/weekend/club outings, but I'd like to get it out at Summit Pt or VIR and am considering a roll cage. Or really any other chassis stiffening or safety improvements. I did already splurge a bit on the Apex Engineering braces for the fro…

A few years ago I came across a pair of replacement fenders. Still in Nissan foam wrap and in perfect condition. Knowing that my fenders had some rust issues and I was planning to redo the car, I bought them and stashed them away in the loft of my shop. I am now to the point in the project where I know that the fenders won't be needed and am thinking about selling so that someone else can put them to good use. Problem is, I have no idea how to price them. Have never seen any others listed for sale anywhere, so thought I would appeal to the collective wisdom here. I really am stumped as to their current value. I have learned a lot from this site over the years so thou…

I couldn't find any good write-up in other threads, so here goes. Regarding the dozen of thin, bendable harness tabs welded all over the body...a close inspection of mine confirms that they were covered in their rubber casings AFTER the color coat. I read some folks who said the rubber coatings were painted body color, but that clearly was not the case with mine (5/71 240Z). Anyway, since many of mine are broken off or cracked, I am looking for an authentic way to replace the black casings over these tabs. The commonly proposed solution is to use heat shrink, especially the kind that is adhesive-lined. But my issue is that regular heat-shrink comes in a sleev…

Is this normal? The headlight bezel extends a good 3/8" beyond the top edge of the lower corner valance. Everything else fits perfectly on this corner of the car. 5/71 Series 2 240Z.

Does anyone know were I could get the metal clip that holds the hood prop rod in place. Its the piece that the rod clips into to hold it in place when folded flat. My car is in the body shop and I need to find one or a good replacement. I dont know if anyone has a parts car or know of any lying around. On a side note, my car has been in the shop since last september and its killing me to read about everyone getting their cars driving this spring! Carl

So while I am a fair ways off from applying color to my 71 240Z, I am trying to be sure I understand the painting sequence that Nissan used. When the car was ready to get shot with it's color coat, here is what I believe was installed, and therefore got painted the final color: - Two doors - Hood - Cowl panel and its four receiving "sockets" in the lower windshield frame - Two inspection doors (battery, clutch master) - Hood hinge assy with torsion rods - Two fenders - Two headlight buckets ("sugar scoops") - Front lower valance - Two front lower corners - Gas door - Two interior compartment doors …

Im looking for a 3 pieces ducktail and fender flares made with fiberglass with great fitment for my 240z. I made some research and i didn't found much except for the chinese one that i am not warm to buy. I seen many images with the ducktail like I'm looking for and 50% of them have bad fitment, bad alinement, not straight hatchback or simply wrong installation. So my questions are: Can you advise me with your own experiences for the ducktail and fender flares? Where got those products? Let me see your artwork with some pictures for those who made the job. Picture linked for reference.

Hi all, I am new to the forum and probably am going to buy a 260Z from 1974 162hp. As you can see, it has some damage at the left rear, also bumper shock by the looks of it. Is this an easy fix? With the kindest regards, Mark
