Just reading through the SVRA group 8 rules and they list two acceptable rear spoilers. The first is the infamous BRE style, 4" tall, Nissan p/n 98100-E3300, which we're all familiar with. The other which I'm curious about is the 280Z rear spoiler, p/n 99996-R8Z01. Does anyone have a picture of this? How tall is it?

So within the next year when i have more cash im getting new wheels and tires. most likely konig rewinds, but during this process I was thinking of possibly putting on the bolt on fender flares. Ive seen many pics with the flares but I have a 112 lime 240z and I have never seen that color with flares so Im debating whether it would look good on my color. Im a pretty indecisive person so any comments would help. I also am wondering if the fiberglass one or the carbon fiber one would look better.

I wanted to buy my weatherstrip kit from datsunstore.com but they use precision and we all know what's going on with them right now. I ended up with the only kit I could find and it was from BD. Fits tight (as expected) but seems to loosen up a little every day. I adjusted the latch so I can get it past the safety latch and will move it in a little every few days until it sits flush (I hope). My question is this: Datsunstore.com states the following: "The kits are made by Precision. We do minor mods to every door gasket to make sure that your doors will close properly. Other vendors don't do these mods because they don't know that they are neccessary. We also provide…

I could use an assist from one of you guys with pristine original cars. Mine is a '73 that my goal is to have look fairly original though the suspension and engine are rather 'developed'. I have all but finished the installation of the interior, I have to put the new dash in but other than that it is new front to rear. Now, I want to install the new emblems. My fenders were drilled and those emblems are on. The hood is new and was drilled and that emblem is on. Now, I need to drill the holes for the "Datsun" and the "240Z" emblem on the rear hatch. Here is the request - Can I get one of you guys to uninstall your hatch emblems and measure from the two constants so I can g…

During the restoration of my Porsche 914 I developed a relationship with a manufacturer of rubber weatherstripping. Well, more specifically, an engineer who works with manufacturing rubber parts. We were both frustrated by the complete abandonment by Porsche of parts to restore our cars. We aren't quite that bad off with the Z probably due to the Z Store project from the 90's but still, some of the rubber parts are NLA or of poor quality. I was chatting with my friend Mark yesterday and I said that I was installing my Precision Rubber Kit and I was hoping that other stuff that wasn't available through that kit would be available through Datsun (Nissan). He offered that w…

Hi guys, I'm working on my 69 240z and I've struck a major problem! I have been trying to line up the hatch and can't seem to get it right. I have replaced the roof skin and at the time I didn't have a hatch to make sure the roof was correctly lined......I know I should have waited until I got the hatch, but impatience got the better of me..... The roof is slightly out where it meets the hatch.......I've figured out how to rectify it, my main concern is that the bottom left corner of the hatch protrudes 5-6mm further than the quarter panel! I've tried 2 hatches and 2 sets of hinges, but no improvement...... Could the body be out of shape (please don't say yes)??? Everythi…

Was wondering how the front hood emblem is attached? I am going to be roller painting my car soon and wanted to remove this, but add it later (i know I can buy a new one . . . but DAMN they are expensive!) Can I just heat it up and remove it or is it clipped in? How would one unclip it? Thanks in advance guys (and girls!)

What kind of metal are the door frames made out of? The shiny frame around the window broke off in the far back corner of the window on the Z I'm working on. At a close look, it almost looks like it was cast, but I'd like to hope not. It doesn't have corrosion on it, so it doesn't seem like it would be regular steel. I've got a spool of stainless wire, in addition to my many spools of steel wire. Unfortunately, I don't have a spool gun, or a tig welder so I'm out of luck if it's aluminum. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm in the process of taking on rust repairs on my '78 and need some advice. I have the replacement panels from Tabco for the lower quarter panels, but I also have rust repairs that needs to be made to the inner quarter panels that are below the bumper mounting points. Does anyone make replacement panels for this area or am I going to have to fab these areas? All suggestions appreciated. Brent

Hey guys, Finally got a chance to strip some of the paint the previous owner had rolled onto the car. Here are some pics and questions: Thats how she sits now How bad is this, would you fiberglass over it or cut the panel?: Does it look like the rear quarters have been cut out and replaced in the past? What are these bondo looking globs INSIDE the rust hole? Thats all for now, I know the passanger floor is rusted as well, but I ran out of energy for today. Please advise! Thanks Abe
