Hey guys, Am planning to use Rust bullet on my entire 240z, that would include the interior, exterios, under the hood and under the car, possibly every where will be covered with rust bullet ,primed then top coated, so here is the question, "How many Quarts /or Gallons of Rust Bullet are Needed?" PS: This is one shot order, since I won't be able to order these material again (due to shipping issues) so I do not want to order huge quantity,, just enough to cover my car ! Thanks

I need to do some repair on a 240Z front frame rail (its bent inwards towards the engine) from about the strut tower to just behind the T/C mounting bracket. I can get donor parts from a 280Z 2+2 but I'm uncertain whether these would be interchangable. I don't have my S30 parts CD with me today so if anyone knows the answer, please post it. I suppose that I could always fabricate what I need, but using good donor parts seems the better way to go.

Anyone know of any reputable body or restoration places in the southern california area? My search has been fruitless, half the body places Ive come across have been an absolute JOKE either in workmanship or service. I'm looking to do a full body paint job and restore on my 1972 240z. If anybody could do it or recommend a place that theyve had good experiences with please let me know! thanks

Well I want to make a custom spoiler for my 240Z and so I drew a few sketched. Please provide you opinion as to which spoiler you like best or is the car better off without a spoiler or suggest a new design. The spoiler will be made of fiber glass. I’ll first make a consumable mold out of Styrofoam and then glass over it. NO SPOILER SPOILER 1 SPOILER 2 SPOILER 3 SPOILER 4 SPOILER 5 SPOILER 6 SPOILER 7 SPOILER 8 SPOILER 9

I've tried the advance search feature and can't find any pictures of Zs that have california mirror on them. Just wondering if any of you have one that you can link me too. Thanks

A few pictures to document my exterior refresh. The subject is my '71 240Z, #37705, 905 red. The car currently has just over 64,000 miles on it, and is rust free as it has been garaged its entire life, has seldom seen wet roads, no snow, and no road salt. Here are a couple of before pictures. Bear in mind that the car looks much better in pixels (or from 10 feet or more) than it did in person. It had many small flaws. A couple of scrapes to bare metal, lots of rock chips on the nose, and 37 years of very small door dings. Not to mention that the 905 red has faded so much that it really looks like 110, the later orangy-red.

Does anyone know where i can get crome bumpers for my Z?? I love the look but i really love crome, so the kind of bumpers i want to model mine after are late 60's corvette stingrays. Any help would be awesome since i havent been able to find any yet, mainly just fiberglass airdams n such that dont really give me what i want. Thanks alot guys. Also another quick question. In the morning when i start my car and start driving with the engine cold my stereo speakers make a popping noise then at the higher RPM's totally stop making any noise. But when the engine warms up the stereo works fine, any suggestions.

<sobbing quietly> Its got paint on it! I can't believe it. Its finally painted!!! I got the pictures today and I'm so happy. I almost burst into tears at work this morning when I opened the email. Its been a year and finally its almost done. I absolutely love the color. Its a GM blue. Some of the pictures look kind of purplish but that is just the lighting. I got nothing accomplished at work and spent the time looking at the pictures and crying happy tears all over the computer. I was planning on driving to Kentucky were the car is but we are supposed to get a bunch of snow so I will probably wait until another weekend. There is still more work to be done …

Just brought the shell back home after getting the body work done and engine bay sprayed in single stage and noticed a couple of small runs. I won't be bringing the car back to get topcoated until March and wanted to address the runs before I drop the motor back in. Can I just sand these runs down and recoat with single stage or is there more to it? What grit should I use? Should they be wet sanded then dried with a heat gun? If I repaint it is there a posibility of it wrinkling on me? I do have enough paint to spray the entire engine bay a few times over. Any pro's out there that can offer some advice? TIA, John

So after receiving my 260Z from the P.O.S. I mean P.O. I found that the roof had been walked on by his neighbor kids. And besides the dents that I did'nt feel confident about fixing myself, it also had it's own fare share of rust, on both sides. So as the title says, Thanks Arne. As his thread on his reroof (skin graft) has given me the confidence to do my own Z in the same manner. And thanks to Ken in Port Orchard (NWZFAN) for the Donor roof from another 260Z. So now that Christmas is over, I decided it was time to get back to work. I bought a panel stand at Harbor Freight Tools for for a mere $15 and I'm loving it. I drilled all the way thru each spot weld on the dono…

I bought my '78 burgundy 280Z coupe in August 2008 after she'd been sitting for about 11 years. Sound familiar?? Since then I've had the engine rebuilt (with OEM Nissan injectors - a DEFINITE improvement over after-market injectors, but that's for another time and another forum), new clutch, brakes, struts, front end, wheel bearings, black Energy Suspension bushing kit, differential, 5-speed transmission and starter. Also had the gas tank cleaned and coated after super fine silt that had accumulated in the tank ruined the fuel pump, a few fuel filters and the injectors. There were also numerous electrical issues, mainly due to corrosion from 11 years of neglect. Ama…
