Someone (and yes, I know who) thought it would be cute to leave me a note that said "drive me" on the door of my Z under the car cover with packing tape to attach it. Now, I have packing tape VERY adhered to the paint on my passenger door. I tried adhesive remover and that got some of it but I still have about 3 square inches that just will not come off... How about a heat gun? I am at a loss. What do you guys think?

What color were the rear tie down hooks - those mounted in conjunction with the bumper bracket - originally on a 240Z? I took mine off years ago but recently found one in an old tool box and would like to clean it up and put it back on.

My 73 240Z was in an accident here in the bay area, I was rear ended. I am looking for recommendations and comments for a body shop with a good sheet metal man that could help. I am located in Livermore, willing to go as far south as Gilroy, the central valley area, SF Bay Area and north bay area. Likewise, if someone has had an negative experence with a shop, I would like to know the shop name and that is it. Please send your recommendations to me via e-mail, pau-hana-bartending@comcast.net. Thanks in advance Eric

I will be taking off the front bumper this weekend to get better access to my lower air dam so I can get ready to install my lower valance panels. Is there a trick to removing the front bumper? Should I have two people there? There seems to be the 2 large bolts on each side that hold the bumper supports to the front end of the car, and then a few smaller bolts on the sides under the headlight bezels. Any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone have a photo of the 73 240z bumper brackets that mount to the car? I picked up a pair and I am having my doubts that they are for the 73 year(based on the lack of detail with the drawing in the manual). I could also use a photo of how they are mounted to the car. Any help is appreciated.

i am getting my 240 back on the road after 8 years of linger. the previous owner ran into something, which bent the bumper, broke the fibreglass headlamp housing and it seems also crumpled the frame rail as well. attached are the photos. i need advice on the amount of damage, what is needed to repair it, and if repair is needed at all. i presume it will be needed as the bolt holes are out of alignment due to that.

Repainting a Z 1 2

I am looking to buy a 280z right now and found one that I like pretty well that isn't that far from me. The only thing about it is that the color is not one I like! The paint is about 5 years old and is in good condition (meaning it does not need to be repainted). I have two questions : 1. Would it devalue the car to repaint it again? It's been kept pretty stock, which is what I'm looking for. 2. How much are we talking about to repaint a car at a quality place where the work is good? I don't believe the car has any known rust, and the color I want would be a color from that year model.. Thanks for any help on this! -C

I’m looking for a driver’s side door for my 72. Am I limited to 70-73, or can I go later? If I go later, when did the interior change? Thanks in advance.

I have been doing body work on my 70 240 and like most im learning as i go. My roof is is pretty good shape "wavey as most 240z are." However, in one area it looks like a football with a 10 sec hang time came down on my roof and streched the metal. My idea was to heat it up, and bring it back to its original shape( everyone says its so easy). Anyway to make a long story longer its rasied (bubbled) I have heated cooled rapidly, then heated and let cool, slowly while dollying to see if that works better, ect. its not looking good and i dont want to ruin my car. Am i doing something wrong or not doing enough?

Hello To make a long story really short. I purchased a "rust free" 1976 280z from a guy up in Phoenix about six weeks ago. I love the car but upon further inspection the day I bought it I found that it has a rust area under battery tray. I though I was looking at horrid rust but when I took the battery out I found nothing there. (minor surface rust that I sanded off). So I would like your guys opinion on this rust situation. What is the best move on my part? I've been told I can clean it up and cover it with some fiber glass but that would be a temporary fix. I have a friend that knows how to weld fairly well but he no longer owns a welder. Take a look a the pictured…

So after being forced to park my Z outside for a good portion of this past year (long story) I realized the weather has not been kind to my car. Aside from surface rust getting worse by the day, I've also discovered yesterday my frame rails are rotted out pretty well. After crying for a little white, i've decided I should start looking at my options for getting this fixed before my car snaps in half. One solution I've found as Bad Dog parts. Anyone used these before? They look like quality parts, but I'd like to know how the transaction was, and what the craftsmanship is like. I'm really open to any suggestions.
