I know the genuine z ones aren't available any more (well the right one is) but I've seen some people are using the chrome 510 ones instead which from what I've read have a shorter stalk, my question is can these be mounted in the factory location without a restricted view?

THe batt tray is gone the inner fender is rusted out about the size of half the battery's base to the firewall. I just purchased a clean front clip and i and i would like to make this as painless as possible. My question is should i drill out the spot welds on the inner side of the strut tower and match up my new piece all the way to the fire wall, or make the patch as minimal as i can. I dont want to mess with the camber or alingment of the car but would like to keep it as strong as i can since i have all the steel. Would prefer to not do a whole clip conversoin for a 6X8 hole. The image you are about to see is true-- This is not some slight of hand--or some trick with mirrors or light-- After 10 years my 72 240Z has finally left the garage for the paint and body shop. The sunroof is coming out and being replaced with a new roof panel--thanks ARNE for the inspiration/ and proving it could be done. Thanks to GUY for his encouragement and advice. The car will be primed and repainted 918 and returned in late November. What will I do with all that extra space in the garage until then?...

I'm really wanting to put a new air dam on my 72' 240z. I see a lot of pictures where they all have the same basic one. When I looked around for them, there were a couple that looked a lot alike and I cant tell which is which. so I have a pic of one that I'd want, and one that is available on the internet. I am wondering if anybody has the BRE spook front air dam and if they are settled on the quality. The classic datsuns air dam is made from the original BRE mold has had accolades from numerous people, but I really prefer the solid lip. MSA sells this, but I would like to know the quality and see a few pictures of them installed. This week I am looking for body shops to paint my front parts. Soon I will be rocking the OEM goodness.

Hello, fellow z-nuts. To make a long story very short, I recently returned home from school to my rolling shell, and would like some expert opinion on the damage that has been waiting for me. There's rust in the usual places and I'm enthusiastic about the work ahead of me, but perhaps there's something I'm not seeing as my eyes haven't been properly trained. I've taken a dozen photos of the car, focusing on the 'problem spots' I can identify. I suppose I'm thinking of this as a consultation on whether or not to proceed with this car, or to wait and purchase a better platform. Thanks in advance for the always sagely advice.

I am looking for some advice. While driving our 76' 280z we got into a small accident. The front ran into the back of a small car. Here is what we found to be damaged. -The front of the hood was bent down -The hood arms were twisted -Bent upper grille was bent -The right hood arm pushed into the frame that sit behind it -Smashed left turn signal -Front bumper was pushed up -Metal headlamp cover pushed back -Driver side fender buckled about an inch There may be some damage but we couldn't find it or did not know to look for it. I am pretty sure that new fenders are available through Nissan and am planning on purchasing a pair. I guess I am wondering if they are an "exact" fit and replacement for a series 1 car. I am wondering about the bolt holes lining up, the inspection lid latches being the same, the headlights bolting in properly and the emblem holes lining up. Part numbers would be a bonus;) TIA, John

Hey guys this is my second Z and i recently bought her and when i did the front of her looked off..i couldnt figure out why for hte life of me. Then i realized (while admiring another Z) that she is missing the upper grill. The bigger of the 2, does anyone know what i can buy one??

Looking for a reasonably priced shop to repaint my '70 240Z. Originally green, now red and oxidized, I want to take back to green. And the bumpers need to be re-chromed. I live in Topanga, so somewhere on the Westside or near Woodland Hills would be perfect. Thanks.
