I finally settled on a body shop to do the refresh on the '73. The body man and I are wondering if there's any difference in quality between the replacement panels available from Black Dragon and MSA. I'll be buying the rear quarter on the drivers side, from the dog leg back. Does anyone have any thoughts on these? Thanks.

The door striker/latch mechanism on my 72 240's door doesnt spring back like it should. Before I take it all apart to see what's wrong, I was wondering if anyone else had ever had that problem and fixed it, so I can get a heads up on what parts I might need. A guy has a whole door handle to latch mechanism for sale on e-bay, but its from a 76, and I'm not sure if the strikers match up. Thanks for the help. DT

Afternoon all , I've removed and stripped and prepped my front end parts , hood ,cowl fenders , and valence .I used aircraft remover and then d\a and hand sanded all to bare metal .Once done everything has been treated with ospho , slight sanding again , then metal ready . I painted por 15 on the inner fenders and stopped there . My ? is can I, should I por the outer steel then use the tie bond primer and then epoxy prime on top of that, and then proceed with filler where needed or am I way off base .I'm thinking that I should just do the inner portions with the por and call it done .I've read over 25 pages of opinions and I am now a little overwhelmed . Bty ,all the meta…

Just a quick bit of possible useful information. I painted the tail light panels today using the duplicolor Graphite wheel coating as reccomended somewhere here. They came our pretty decent the color is not exactly the same the metalic flakes are a bit larger than original but non the less they look good. Wet sand with 320 and 3 light coats about 5 minutes apart should be just fine. I will be spraying the tank and brake booster with POR 15 black tomorrow and will also be painting the engine and and air filter along with some brackets with the dupont Turquise paint with. I will let you know how the color matches.

I am puzzled as to how to fit Upper Corner Door Seals. They may have came in marked bags, but I now have two in hand and must guess at which is left and right. Does anyone have a good description or picture of exactly how these fit (and how to tell left from right)? Thanks, Randy

If you wanted to get some paint, say #240- green metallic, what would you tell the guy at the paint store or body shop? Every time I talk to one of those guys they just tell you, "We can colour-match any colour." I don't want to get the colour matched; just order up a quart or so of #240 ( for example.) thxZ

Greetings, I was wondering if someone with a set on their car wouldn't mind going out and getting a few measurements for me??? Looking to cross-reference them and use them on another vehicle. I know the wheelwells are "similar" sized, and I also know they are slightly flexible. With that, I'd really appreciate: The width of the flares (front to back), interior side, level to the ground. If the flares run lower in the front of the wheelwell than they do on the back (or vice versa), please measure the width, level to the ground, from the higher of the two points....... again, from the interior side of the flare, from the front side of the wheelwell to the backside. Doe…

Installed the rear tail-light panels after painting them the same gunmetal color as the wheels. The front grill is gunmetal as well, but won't be installed untill the A/C condensor is in. Installed my hood, but it still needs a bit of adjustment. The hood line is a bit high at the center of the fender. I'm really liking the "ghost" stripe. Engine & drive train are in, and the engine compartment is about 85% complete. Painted the air cleaner "gunmetal" and yesterday I cleaned-up and installed the throttle linkages. Looking at the pic, looks like I need to "adjust" my front license plate mounts. She should be driving in late Spring.

On my 73Z the front hood torsion bars are not attached to the hood hinges. I have obtained a set but can not figure out how to install them. I have searched the sites but have not found any info on installing. Is there a way to get them installed without taking the hood or hinges off?

just a note for anyone considering cleaning up their engine bay and don't want to lay out the $$$$ for a shop to do it. the engine is awaiting header pipes and will add photos when the motor is cleaned up .. here are some before and afters. sorry i didn't snap any pics of the engine pulled when it was yellow...guess i got carried away when i started prepping...but it was the typical dirt, grime and junk all over the place... budget: less then $50 for prep material and spray cans, and $29 for the engine hoist rental. i still did the prep work correctly, sanded all metal, repaired minor rust, primed, applied color and clear coats, etc....and got RRREEEAALLLL lucky on t…
