I am looking for a couple of 280ZX fender emblems that are in great to new condition. I have seen a few on ebay, but they are $70, or is the going price for those things. Don't have to be brand new, but at least in very good condition.

Does anybody know the significance of a flat black hood with rest of car painted? What paint would I use to paint it, or clear coat?

This winter I'm putting in a 5-speed/R-180 4.11 combo. While the car is laid up, I'm going to replace all the rear suspension bushings, struts, springs, etc. and undercoat the whole car. While all the rear suspension parts (control arms, mustache bar, diff carrier, etc.) are off, I'm planning to powdercoat them. I'm looking for color ideas, anyone got pics to share to help me decide? I'm leaning toward gun metal gray.

Anyone interested in splitting the cost of electro-plating tail-light trim pieces? I'm looking at vendors now. So far it looks like there is about a $250 minimum charge. Please let me know if you know of a good vendor. I'm thinking that if several of us do them at the same, we can get them done at a reasonable cost for everyone involved. I have two sets to do, (4 pieces), and I'm willing to organize things unless someone else would prefer to do it.

A question to the group. Which is the best of the two products for the underpadding of the transmission tunnel, jute or closed cell foam. Let me know your success story and where you found the product you used. I am finishing up with installation of Extreme Dynamat and need to put a underpadding on my tunnel over the upcoming weekend. I've already reviewed the search engine on jute and underpadding but have not found the ultimate responce. Oh yea, by the way, the glass company broke my first windshield yesterday, re-ordered and installed this morning with success. Thank goodness for warrenty and having the glass shop do the install. 323.00 for the install including…

Hi everyone. Does anyone have some good pics of the attachment of the front apron and grill to the bracket on the front cross member? Something is amiss with mine. I searched all of the gallery pics and it appears the bracket on the cross member should come off nearly perpendicular (parallel to the ground). As you can see from the attached pic, mine comes off at maybe a 20 degree up angle. This would explain why the grill and lower apron were not attached in the middle to anything when I got the car and disassembled it. I've attached a pic of how it was before disassembly. The car had front end damage (and repaired) previously. I suspect this is why the bracket is bent…

I am planning on taking my car to the body shop next week for body and paint work. I would like to replace as many of the bolts with new ones instead of the old rusty ones. First of all I don't know what sizes they are, and secondly I don't know were to purchase new ones. Does anyone know of a list that would give the appropriate size? Anyone know were I could even purchase new ones? I have seen a few miscellaneous ones in Black Dragon and sometimes see some on ebay but they are never the ones I would like. Thanks. Carl

Hey everyone, The body shop just reinstalled the bumpers on my '78 280z but when I was looking through one of the parts buckets I saw these four parts. Although the bumpers seem to be solidly mounted, I thought some or all of these are part of the bumper mounting system. Either way, can anyone tell me what they are and where they're supposed to go? Thanks! P.S. I thought I'd throw in a couple of photos of the work in progress ...

My 1978 280z coupe has just been completely repainted in the original 301 bronze color with undercoating on the underside, inner fenders and wheel wells. I'm waiting on the clips for the inner-to-outer fender seals, and then the body shop will be ready to remount the fenders, extensions, bumpers, grilles, hood, cowl, etc. Before they do this, I would like to do everything possible to make sure water and other foreign materials drain from the body as they are supposed to. I'd like to check and clean the drain tubes (at least I think that's what they are) on each inner fender. What about the cowl? Any other areas that should be checked? Any input would be greatly apprecia…

Believe it or not, after 400 days of torture........my '72 Z car is finished, or at least 99.9% and ready for me to pick up from my body shop tomorrow before the snow starts flying in the afternoon. Wouldn't you know it as soon as it gets out of the body shop it's parking in the garage for hibernation for the winter. Once salt hits our roads tomorrow night thats it for the Z car until spring. The quality of the workmanship is excellent. I did elect not to have the car buffed yet due to putting in the interior. The next stop is the front and rear windsheild and the correct muffler (but that may wait until spring). The interior should be fun and a lttle challangi…
