I am planning on painting the hood of my car. I was told by someone that I needed to wet sand my hood before I paint it. Would something like this work? http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/p-12829-15974.aspx

Does anybody know if there are any differences in the hatch sill on the various S30 coupe models from 1969-78? Thanks!

Hi to everyone! I first got turned onto the 240Z (or Zed) by a friend when I lived in the U.K. in 1978. In the early 80's I had a burgundy '78 2+2 and then a blue '78 coupe. Since then I've always dreamed of owning another Z. Last December I made the plunge and bought a bronze '78 coupe in semi-running condition, which has turned into a full restoration project. The one shown here is my daily driver, which I got last July. I'm planning to have it repainted in the original 611 burgundy after the restoration of my bronze '78 is completed. After that, maybe a 240Z??? I'll be posting more pictures of my two 1978 280z coupes in the near future. For now, here is my question…

I am looking for an airdam/ chin spoiler. I think I want a BRE spook style as it is somewhat "period correct", but am not sure, as there are a few different styles. Since I know all of you like to show off your rides, can I see some pics of yours, from various angles if you got 'em? This site is awesome. You guys have helped me so much! Thanks, Adam

Hey men, Bought a '72 on eBay. 14th Z I've owned in my 30 years of life. Immediately took it to Miller Brothers Hot Rod Barn in North Wilkesboro, NC and had it totally disassembled and made, well, perfect. They've been working on it over over a year now. So, here's where we are. The car is in the middle of assembly. I don't need to buy anything else. It's just a waiting game. The engine is a Nissan S15 (2003) Sylvia SR20DET turbo motor and is getting: Greddy intake High flow injectors Brian Crower cams and springs New head gasket n such Garrett 3071 Turbo (pretty big) Greddy top mount exhaust manifold (the turbo will be up and in your …

Need some verification of originality trivia. The two inspection doors on the 240z are secured by 5MM machine screws. I believe the car came from the factory with these machine screws unpainted and in clear zinc or cad. and were mounted to the car after paint was applied to the doors. Can anyone with an unmolested 240z substantiate that these inspection door machine screws were unpainted? The same thing is true for the rear deck hatch, which is fastened to the hatch hinges with four unpainted flat head phillips machine screws, since the hatch was painted separately and assembled to the car after the finish was applied. Thanks for checking. Dan Original Owner/hls30-2041…

I'm talking about the ones that were applied to the top, inside of the windshield. The ones I remember were silver and had "240Z" in darker letters that could be seen from outside the car. Did some web searching have not found a source...

This is just a warning to everyone in CA who might be looking to get some inexpensive body work done. Avoid this shop, and warn anyone you know about it! This isn't even the first car he's destroyed. I know most of you know better and only do the best for your Z, but you never know. Be warned, the pictures in this link may haunt you for a while. 350Z disaster

Hey everyone, when I bought my car there was a light blue overspray on a large majority of the interior panels. What would you guys suggest for cleaning this off? I was thinking paint thinner or turpintine but wasn't sure if it would be to strong as to damage the door panels, seats, and other trim panels. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Elliot.

I have a 75 280z and wanted to paint the radiator. Has anyone painted the radiator before? Can I use the engine paint or do I have to use a special paint for radiators only? What about the fins? Can that be painted as well.?

I dropped by the body shop today, and its actually almost ready for paint. Im sure it will be a couple of weeks still...but its close now. The hood, doors and hatch just got their final wetsand, and the body is pretty much done. They just finished all the the little metal 'patches' where needed and the seam sealer has been applied. Theres one or two little things they have to address still. I had my phone and took a few pics for all to see. I have decided on the 110 Red, and he's going to match the color next week.
