Here's what I'm thinking. The original owner of my red 240Z had a glass, split-pane sunroof installed in it in the late '70s. The recent discovery that the rust in my yellow 240Z is far more severe and pervasive than I had thought has led me to decide (reluctantly) to part it out rather than repair it. The proceeds from parting the yellow car, plus not paying to have the car repaired and painted this winter as I had planned, has accelerated the timeline for having my red 240Z painted. Probably next Spring. I expect the yellow car to be a mostly bare shell by next Spring. A bare shell with a nice, un-dented roof. I don't have to draw a picture of the conclusion, do I? So …

I ordered a chrome windshield trim kit from Black Dragon two years ago and just got around to getting my new windshield installed. The guy installing my new windshield glass wasn't able to save the old long chrome piece that runs across the top. I thought I was safe since I had already bought the new chrome. To my surprise the new set didn't have the top piece with it! :eek: When I called BD I was informed that it was out of their return period and that I was boned! :stupid: Long story still somewhat long, does anybody know where I can just get the top piece of windshield chrome for my 72? Thanks.

anyone know of a good source for the chrome trim that runs on either side of the roof back to the hatch? any aftermarket sources? also, what type of floormats came from the dealer on the 240's? rubber or carpeted mats? thanks

I see many Z's with the tacky (in my honest opinion) side molding to prevent a door ding. I see other with it off and the whole car looks much cleaner. I was wondering if that side molding is held on with sticky 3M type of product, or is it riveted in and will require the holes to be filled.

I'm getting ready to paint, and I have a fairly simple question. Is it possible to remove the mirror from the drivers side door without removing the window regulator and assembly? Maybe theres a trick I don't know about, but I can't seem to get to the mounting screws. Any hints? P.S. - Any yes, I searched first, couldn't find anything.:disappoin

now i'm not like some of you lucky guyz out there that have the tools, space and skills to do a restoration. so i'm wondering what have the others paid for a good restoration. please rate by percentage the amount of: rust body damage thoroughness please dont include replacement parts interior/exterior i'm just trying to get an idea how much i may have to shell out...

What are you racing guys using for grills? I really don't want to use stock grill and don't want a big ole hole waiting for sticks and stones. I want some kind of mesh wire, ect....
