I appreciate you taking the time to read my thread. Thank you! My situation: I own a 1975 280z coup with constant water flooding problems. Currently the carpet is pulled up and away from the floors since I cant get the water to stop leaking in on both the driver and passenger sides. When I bough the vehicle in 04, it was tucked under a car cover where at this time, the owner must have known of the problem but realized that if I were to know, he would risk the chance of not selling. Needless to say, I was completely unaware of the events to come. The owner also installed an aftermarket sunroof that looks original but could very easily be the root of the problem. Obviously,…

I need a little help in remembering what was correct with the fender to inner hood securing bolts and washers, as my fenders have been off and on in various stages of restoration by different people. My car is a very late series 1 240z manuf. in 1/71. There are 5 bolts and washers on each fender, 3 to secure the inner fender, and 2 to secure the headlight housing to the inner fender. My questions are: 1. Are all, or part, of these 5 bolts phillips hex head bolts, or just hex head bolts? 2. The fender washers are, I think, 18mm OD washers. Do some, or all, of these washers have a cut off edge so as to clear the flared lip …

Advice needed for painting my hood hinges . I've removed and stripped to bare metal the hinges and hoped to paint with por-15 then top coat with the por chassis coat black . I don't think I'm on the right track because the por-15 will seal in the pivot points , so what should be my approach . Thanxz for any advice to this question . Chris

I saw this set of ventilated service doors for sale on eBay. I'm wondering if these are a factory option? I've never seen them before so I assume somebody fabricated them but they look really well made. Considering the occasional under-hood heat issues, they may be a good idea.

I went down to the local dealer parts counter on Friday with the part numbers for the front fenders and hood. After seeing a post that somebody replied to saying they were still available I figured I would give it a try. They arrived in 2 days in great shape. Its like Christmas all over! They are all EDP coated without a scratch on them. The fenders only cost $284.00 each and the hood 360.00. It turned out they were cheaper than aftermarket after adding shipping. They will probably save me a months work on the originals. Pics are below.

Hi, I'm restoring a 73 240z and am in need of hatch glass. I assume 70-73 would fit it. Does anyone have any ideas about the best place to look for this? It may be just as cost effective to get a hatch with glass. Is there an internet listing of wrecking yards specializing in older datsun's? Any help would be appreciated.

Has anybody ever bought one? I was going to pay ~$1k to get my car blasted but for those prices, I can buy it myself, pocket money, and have a soda blaster when I'm finished. I emailed them about where the cheap one was "imported" from as they don't say what country. They got back to me and said China. I'm very cautious about buying anything that needs to last that's made in China. I don't mind paying for quality, but at over double the cost for the made in USA one, can the China one be that bad? http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=1408&itemType=CONTENT&path=32&KickerID=395&KICKER

I removed my hood to have it resprayed last week. I observed that one hinge is not as tight as the other. There is some play as if the rivets would be loose but they are tight. I can plat sideways with the hinge part that connect to the hood. Is there a way to fix this hinge looseness?

Hi, I`m searching for a pair of clear Turn Signal Lenses which are Locatet at the 240Z front, at the corner under the Frontpumper. Maybe one of you have some at home and would sell them? Most important would be the lenses but if you have the hole part with a mirror in good shape, with wiring that would be great. Sorry for my english. Thanks a lot. amazombi
