Hi there ! My car has been repainted in bright yellow 30 years ago when my dad imported it from the US to Europe. I'm planning to strip the car and go back to its original color, but I'm not sure if it was the 919 yellow or 112 lime green-yellow aka tennisball color.... I also know that my car is a 1971 and that 919 was stopped end of Aug 1971 and replaced by the 112 lime. Here are a few photos from un-repainted areas (see arches not the trunk floor) Thanks !

I'm in the middle of some repairs on my 260z and am already looking towards the next challenge. I'm trying to understand how the lens cover frames are constructed or better, how to reproduce them. I'm assuming that they are stamped and then stamped a second time to form the curves and finally chromed. Can someone sketch for me the cross section through the frame or a good photograph of the back side of the frame to show the detail of its shape. I have some ideas on how to reproduce a pair without having to resort to having a mold made and using a stamping press that I'd like to explore. If I can figure this out, I'll publish the methodology but I do not p…

I am going to be repainting to original color 304 on my 260z. Was curious if anyone has done the same and was happy with the results? If so, what brand of paint did you use?

Precision seals 1 2

It was many years ago that I used a Precision weatherstrip kit on my Z . I remember how the door seals just didn"t work. You had to slam the doors and they didn't want to break in . I eventually went with Kia door seals , but they discontinued them. I thought that I had read more recently that their design had changed and folks were having good luck with them. Well I just received a full kit and the door seals still suck. Same deal-doors have to be slammed against the hard rubber . I just ordered the spendy Vintage rubber set -hope I'm not disappointed again.

I did notice under the brown material is a screw. Wondering if that brown cork material is OEM? Stuffed sponge? Wine cork? All opinions are welcome.

Just wondering if someone who has a untarnished original car can share the shape of the below area? I’m looking at building my rotisserie and feel I need to sort out the damage my car has before mounting the rotisserie to it. At some point it had a front end collision, most damage was on the RHS. Repairs to the area seem..... how do you put it....unprofessional, low rent, shithouse... in particular I need to know if the vertical panel that the front bumper mounts to should be perfectly straight up and down. As you will see mine kinks outwards where the bumper mount holes are. And I need a rough guide on the radius of the curve from the vertical panel to horizontal t…

I was in need of straightening, restoring and painting my orange air filter box in my 72 240z. Unfortunately, the guy that painted the metal box did not tried his best by messing up the finish and wasted all the orange 240z spray. Do you guys think i can get that same stock factory orange color at any paint shop or do i really need to buy 2 bottles of spray can from the US?

Car is ready for paint. Told guy 918 paint. The car was orange but not sure it was the 918, original paint. He sent an image of fender with original orange and the pint of 918 he bought. He said once clear coat goes on, it will be slightly darker. Does this look too dark for 918? it does to me

I am going to spring for a new set of bumpers on my 71 240. Anybody got a good place for new ones or completely refurbs? All i have found so far is a place in vietnam, on ebay, that sells an "identical" version in Stainless. Looks pretty good but is almost $900 for bumpers, rubbers and overriders.

Okay fellow enthusiasts, I need your opinions. I've had my 1971 240Z for over 15 years with the hope of someday getting to restore/refresh it. Well, the kids are finally out of the house and I've managed to save a few $$ and, most importantly, received approval from my wife to start the process! As you can imagine, I've dreamed of numerous directions to take this project since I've owned her for so long! Car is a 12/70 build series 1 car (HLS30-16896) matching engine, with 102,000 miles. It was originally 901 silver but had a horrible '80's MAACO red re-spray. I have a 1981 L28ET turbo motor I plan to install and will mate to a 5 speed. I will pull the orig…

I was wondering if there are some alternatives to the OEM air ducting that goes from the radiator section into the body cavity. I was thinking that a 3” brake duct tube might work, it would just be a matter of figuring out some mounts for the chassis. anyone do this before? Or have a set for sale 😐. maybe I’ll have to listen to captain’ and start working with composites.
