OK, I am not usualy someone to just post what the hell I have done, but it's 1:30 in the morning and I just spend 12 hours painting my Z. I was supposed to have the car painted today in my garage by a pro painter from the body shop my best friend works at, but he was busy with shop stuff and said he couldn't get it done today or tomorrow. (this is the second weekend in a row he has done this to me ) So, since the car needs to come together soon so I can finally move from my current house and to that of me and my fiance I said "What the hell" and decided to paint it myself. OK quick question, someone told me that Eastwood rust encapsulator would work well as a weld thru primer. I know you can't have 100% non-rust after welding anything, but will this work or do I have to buy the "Weld Thru" stuff? Any ideas??

I'm looking to put an air dam on my '73 Z but I want something that isn't totally out there. If anyone's got pictures of your Z or anyone elses with one on it that would be great cuz I'm just trying to get an idea of what looks good with the car without making it look like something made for street racing.

I was wondering is there a possiblity that The BRE spook from MSA http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=50-1521&Category_Code=7AD1 Will work on the 75-78 280z or will it require major mods or not work at all just wonder cause no matter what Z I get 70-78 i want this front spoiler (front Dam) seems like the only problem is the turning signals as thats the only difference i can see between 70-74 and 75-78 please help thnaks in advance

Preparing to "hang" the Motorsport front air dam on my 77. This is the type that replaces the gawd-awful front bumber(Motorsport part 50-1409). Stiff, non plyable fiberglass. Question for those w/ experience with this particular airdam: There is a significant gap where the air dam mates up to the front fender, just under the amber turn indicator. What is the best way to "fill" this void? I've thought about gluing some flat plastic to the underside of the airdam, then filling with something (fiberglass, bondo, etc), then filing/sanding/buffing to shape. However, I'm afraid that whatever I do, it will develop cracks with age. Ideas/experience?

I really need a good front bumper for my Z but I cannot find any place half-way affordable. Also, when I looked in some magazines, they don't even list a '73 front bumper only '71-'72. If anyone could fill me in that would be great.

hey all, the insurance agency told me that I'm looking at around $3327 as a cash out to get the car fixed. They got the quote by contacting Danny's Datsuns, and aquiring other parts from various other sources. My dad is going to be talking to them, showing them all of the reciepts for the things I've done to the car (new cylinder head, new radiator, clutch assembly, transmission, clutch slave/master cylinder, etc) to see if he can get them to rate it higher. So, here's my question: does anyone know of a good body shop in Sacramento that does excellent quality work for a reasonable price? Does anyone know the purpose of this hole on the door jamb? Perhaps to let moisture evaporate out of the dog-leg area? Perhaps it should be plugged to keep water OUT of the dog-leg area? I just can't recall whether that hole was open or plugged back when I bought the car. Comments, suggestions ...

I am looking for touch up paint for my '71 240Z paint code 904 White. Anybody had any luck getting it off the web or should I get a paint shop to mix me some? The areas I want to touch up are in the engine bay.
