Any respirator suggestions for body and blasting?

Looking to pick up a half mask respirator for general body/paint/sandblast etc. Was wondering what everybody uses. Just trying to protect the old windbags. Noticing a lot of 3M and AOSafety products around. I would like to find something that will still have replacement filters available a year down the road. Don't wanna spend a fortune, but do wanna keep my lungs stretchy.

Someone recently posted a link to a car-care website that I took to heart. My car had a bad case of oxidation after being banished to the PO's side yard since 1992. I decided to purchase the 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and 3M Perfect-it Show Car Liquid Wax. The first pic is right after the hand glaze was buffed out, with the hood down. The second photo is of the hood down, from a slightly different angle, after the wax. The third is with the hood up, after the glaze, and last pic is hood up after the wax. Was wondering where or if anyone knew where to source the factory jdm or replica fender mirrors? Or if anyone knew of some nice alternatives? Im really diggin the fender mirrors, one reason I want to get a Z, becuase its pretty unique imo *seeing an old japanese car with fender mirrors is pretty nostalgic*. I guess Ebay is one place, but it looks pretty rare... If anyone has any part numbers, I got a friend who works at superiornissanmotorsports.com, i could see if they could carry them.

Painting Door Hinges

I have removed and beed blasted my door hinges to get rid of old paint and rust. Now I am ready to paint them but I don't know how to prepare them for paint. I plan to paint the entire car including jambs with BC/CC ( Original Color = 411 Sunburst Yellow 77SE). http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/411yellow.jpg Should I prime the hinges and if so what type primer should I use. When applying short strand fiber glass to fill in a small hole, dose it have to bond directly to metal or is a sanded paint ok to apply it too

Hello all Finally after 12 months of looking I have picked up a JDM set of Fender mirrors, Not quite the Nissan ones but I think they look the part. They are meant to be off a 1970â€™s Toyota Celica but they donâ€™t look as bug eyed as the usual Toyota fender mirrors. They cost $200 Aussie not bad since the Nissan ones cost over US$300 I am making my Z into a 432 lookalike so the mirrors should suit it well. LaCaRa

Hey guys... I was just curious if anyone is interested in a fiberglass G-Nose with a valence?? I have one I am debating on selling, however, before I prep it on eBay I wanted to give you guys the chance to snag one up... Sorry mods if you feel this should belong in the classifieds.. however this Gnose is not far sale yet.. I'm looking for interest in the G-Nose.. if someone genuinly wants the Gnose then I will list it for sale.. Just a heads up before it hits e-bay... ya know?? i want someone who will appreciate it to snag it from me

Rust under rear seat mounts... 1 2

Ok, a little advice that I haven't been able to find in the search forums. So I am about to start the cleaning and repair of my floor boards and I want to make sure I get all the rust. There is a good chance there is rust under the rear seat braket mounts. I would like to avoid taking them off (not even sure how to do this) but instead put a bit bigger hole in them so I can get to all the rust problems with ease. See attached photo for an idea of what I want to do. Or is it easier and better to take off the rear brackets?

Hey Z-people... I'm looking for a good shop in the 818/310/213/626 area code (I know it's a wide spread) to straighten and re-powdercoat my bumpers, door handles, and wiper arms...the first job done in the mid 80s has held up but time/smog has taken its toll...reasonable prices but quality workmanship foremost...thx...

I just saw a car on ebay which caught my attention because of the pinstriping on the bonnet and a few other body details such as the chrome around the wheel arch's. Greetingzzz, Hope your new year is off to a good start...been a while since I've posted... Today I went to the body shop that's doing the work on my Z and about fell down. I have found a gem of a craftsman, I can't believe the transformation that my man Tony has performed... (back story) I purchased my Z from a co-worker in the mid 80s...first effort was a hack 1 Day Paint & Body job over the original silver..if you ever use those guys, strip your car of EVERY thing you don't want oversprayed, not happy but it held up mostly...fast forward slightly...360'd into a median less than 1/4 mile from home, bent the body, broke the right rear suspension arm, and two rims..…

How to Ideas for Flush turn Signals

If anyone knows of a post that has covered the idea of running the turn signals on an early Z car let me know. If not, anyone have any ideas or suggestions of where to start? I really like the curves of my 280z but really feel like the turn signals take away from it's appeal (and a fraction of aerodynamic drag ). My idea so far is to use the existing hole and fill in the screw holes and use some sort of back mounted system with a custom done rubber outter seal. Anyways, any ideas would be greaty welcomed.
