I picked up "1973" emissions decals for the underside of my hood. They look a lot like my 1972 decals, but a bit different than whats under hood on the '73. As it turns out there was a change late '73. Has anyone been able to source late '73 stickers? Sent from my SM-G981W using Tapatalk

Getting setup for some winter projects for my 1977 280z including a deep clean on the engine bay since the last owner left a lot of grease build up and cosmoline. I have a number of places, usually near welds and seams, where I have small pockets of surface rust like shown in the picture (usual Datsun rust issues 😕 ) . Anyone have any advice for the best way to remove this and stop it from coming back? I am planning to repaint the car between 2021 and 2022 which will include engine bay paint, but want to at least stop the progress of the rust between now and when I can give it a more thorough blasting. I have used naval jelly before on parts outside of the vehicle…

Howdy, I’m trying to flush mount a rear early 260z bumper to a early 260z. From other threads I have read that you can drill out a leak hole for the oil, the push the shock inward and weld it into place. I drilled a hole in the strut l, drained a significant amount of oil out of the strut, but the strut does not stay depressed, it seems like it keeps popping outward. I beat on it with a dead blow hammer, I can see that it moves inward then comes right back out. Is there a trick to this that I’m missing?

I own two S30s and am an original owner of one of them, for which I have been in the process of doing a restomod for several years. I am also a retired R&D chemist with a background in plastics and rubber chemistry and processing. I have been frustrated several times regarding the various small rubber bits that go into my S30 as, I'm sure, are many other owners of old Datsuns. Many rubber parts are simply "no longer available," at least through the Nissan parts system. With the closure of Black Dragon a few years ago, the situation got worse. And, some of these NLA parts, especially those approaching 50 years in service, are simply "tuckered out" due to the h…

Apparently finding a 240z one of these is almost impossible. I bought one like this https://www.ebay.com/i/154082623242?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=154082623242&targetid=935065066707&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9027875&poi=&campaignid=10455978145&mkgroupid=104612009660&rlsatarget=aud-412677883135:pla-935065066707&abcId=2146002&merchantid=6296724&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-rj9BRCAARIsANB_4ABVTQhdVz8OWxC8AhTcoPeDTnylMx9pWoWTsRy0Ldb6K-qjkLifIb0aAqfCEALw_wcB Already tested it and it works if you are willing to 1. saw arm button in half like image below. 2. weld arm…

I just watched a video of a 1976 280Z barn find that has just 350 miles on it. My daughter recently bought a 1976 280Z project car that is the same color (light blue). We’ve been working on her car and it will be getting paint this month. She wants to keep it the same factory color so I had checked a few different internet sites and all indicated that her car is painted Light Blue Metallic #305. In the barn find video they are taking about how pristine all the factory markings are and they showed the paint code decal. It says the paint code is #304. When I saw that, I went back to some of the sites I had previously looked at for paint codes and all of them indicate t…

Before media blast/epoxy primer, I tried to get the ebrake clips off but had no luck...figured I'd wait until it was blasted and on a rotisserie to pull them out. Well, that's all done and still no luck. I just can't seem to get enough of a grip on them or any sort of pivot point on a prying implement to get them out. I'm hoping that someone can give me some tips on how to get these guys out. Thanks!

Good morning. I am hoping to get some opinions on these taillight panels as I am trying to decide whether they need to be returned. In relation to the car, the outer panels do not meet the upper lip on the hatch area (elevation) and do not engage fully. Even if they did, there would not be enough material to catch the screw holes. In relation to each other, the center panel is nowhere near seating neatly to the outer panels. I was expecting that they may be a bit fussy, but I'm not sure if this is a workable starting point. Thanks in advance for the feedback, Robert

I'm getting ready to put some Euro bumpers on my 73. Found the unused mounting points on the frame, should be good to go after chasing the threads out. Bought a pair of 70-72 brackets, but not sure which bracket is for the left or right. Looks like the frame holes are offset a bit and may raise or lower bumper a quarter inch or so. I searched, but came up empty. Which is which? Or does it matter? Thanks
