I have found car 136, "Not for sale" been sitting years I will keep after him, someday it will be mine hopefully as he is never going to touch it. Car is gold, and has the best color change I have ever seen if in fact that's the case, under the seats it's BRG and that's the only place I can find green. Is this a good color change or greenish primer?

I've been having some trouble with the fit of my hood since I replaced it with another one from another car. The front edge of the hood sits about 1/4"-3/8" higher than the fender on either side. The back of the hood fits fine as well as the front to back fit. I've adjusted the hood hinges down as far as they will go and the fenders are already as high as they will go. What gives? One thing I noticed is that if I remove the torsion bars from the hood hinges it helps a little. Anyone have any idea what's going on? As I said the old hood fit fine before I replaced it. I did take the hinges off when I replaced the hood to repaint them.

i've just bought Duplicolor DE 1621 Old Ford Blue to touch up the engine. i searched here and found this is recommended as the closest match to the original engine color. when i sprayed it on smog pump brackets, it seems 'too' blue and much, much brighter than the oem color. even taking into account 30+ years of fading. anyone else get this? is this truly the original color or did i just get a badly mixed batch?

Clipped from an Alfa Romeo Bulletin Board (http://www.alfabb.com) that I frequent - I saw this and thought it might be of use here: Dry - Ice Blasting to remove undercoating --------------------------------------- I saw this a year or so ago in German Classic Car magazines - and was wondering if any of you have any experience with it or know of any companies here in the US (California)? The results are quite amazing and the magazine tests and reviews are very positive. It sure saves tons of work, dust and dirt and your car is clean like new from underneath..... http://www.carblast.de/ (click on "Beispiele" - samples - and check out the different cars - especially the Due…

I had my z sandblasted and now im cleaning up what sandblasting didnt take off and then im painting it with an etching primer and por 15. First off, is it ok to use etching primer from a rattle can. Also is por 15 ok to cover up rust that i cant get rid of in cracks and corners and stuff? Im first cleaning the metal with metal prep and then im spraying on a few layers of the etching primer. Im not using a painting booth. What happens if I spray the etching primer over some rust or flash rust? Because there was some rust that I couldnt get off and when I cleaned with the metal prep, and some areas turned yellow which I think is flash rust. Im just worried if I leave it the…

I just want to ask a silly question .. but I would like to be sure about this .. Are the doors of a 71 240 the same as doors from a 77 280 ? Can I swap them ? I have a parts car (71 240) and am using some of its parts from my 77 280 . If i can I may restore the doors from my 240 and then swap them onto my 280 without being without doors for a lenght of time. The 280 is my driver. Thanks ..B

Hey guys, im at the point in my restore where im down to a bare shell. Every bolt and such is out of the shell except suspension for now. All interior and engine bay is stripped. I removed the tar from the floors and cleaned it with mineral spirits to bare metal. Now I have the rest of the body to clean. My question is if anyone knows of a good commercial product to remove all the leftover glues, rubber, and other pita stuff. Basically get it down to the paint. Im not ready to take the paint off yet. Ive been using the mineral spirits as i have with past projects, but im just wonderin if there is any kind of recomended spray that will disolve everything down to the paint …

Apart from Motorsport, what are the other suppliers for new front body parts as front bumper, left fender, hood. The adjuster in charge of my claim seems to have a hard time to complete his estimate.

Call it what you want but I'm pretty sure it's called the drip gaurd. I removed the driver's side and have yet to remove the passenger side. When I reomved the driver's side I had to work it off from one end to the other by gently rolling it up and down and pulling it out at the same time. There are a few small metal clips that held it on the edge of the roof lip and they broke when I removed the trim. I need to take off the other side but I don't want to break the clips. Are these clips still available to put the trim back on or is there an alternate way to secure the gaurd trim back on. I really don't want to load it up with epoxy or some kind of 'glue' but if tha…

Anyone have any experience with Motorsport's rear louvers? The catalog says that they require no drilling, but beyond that, doesn't do much of a job explaining anything. I do have a set of aluminum louvers that came with the car, and they have a pair of metal hinges with two holes each at the top...looks to me like they would need to have the car drilled...which I'm not willing to do. Just wondering if anyone could enlighten me. Replies are appriciated. -Kelly

The rear bumper filler on the 78 280 that I'm working on is damaged and needs to be removed. I've cut the four support fingers but there seems to be some rivets between the flange of the the filler and the body that are holding it on also. Is that what these are? There is rust back there so I'm just going to cut it off with a Dremel tool. Just want to make sure I'm not missing some small nuts and bolts instead. Also, I need to remove the gas tank to flush it out. There is a small plug, like the oil pan plug, on the left side of the tank, on the bottom. Is this a drain plug or is this holding the float meachanism in place or for something else that I shouldn't mess …
