Haven't posted for a while cause I've been waiting for this parts car for about 5 months! I finally got it and am just about done transferring all the needed parts to mine. I've had my new floor panels sittin around waiting for the parts car operation to be finished. I don't really trust myself with welding so I want to get my body done by professionals. Before I go across the street and ask Sunrise Z some questions, can anyone provide me with any good locations that do Z floors professionally? Any that excel in weatherstripping too? Thanks, yoog

Hey guys, It will be time to paint my 77 280Z soon, and I can't decide on the color. It was orgionally silver, but with as many silver cars that are out there these days, I don't want to blend in. The 350Z color daytona blue is my first choice, but now, a real bright white seems pretty cool too. Another color I am considering is the "Atomic Green" that is found on the new VW beetles...its the one that is real light and has a pearl look to it...I know you have seen it around...its got a real retro look to it. OF these colors, which do guys think would look the best??? Of course, If you have another suggestion, I am down for that too! Thanks!!!! :stupid: :stupid: :s…

Hey all, Ok so both chrome retaining rings that hold the headlights in place have on my car popped their welds. That means that part of the chrome ring is sticking out into the headlight bucket - looks pretty bad... I don't weld & taking them out to give to someone to weld back together means me going without headlights entirely for a couple days.... So does anyone have a spare set of these headlight rings for sale? Thanks, -e

Im totally stipping my z for sandblasting and bodywork and I have a few questions... On the transmission tunnel there is a plastic thing glued to it underneath the vynal and horse hair material. What is that and should I bother taking it off. should I worry about rust? I peeled back a corner and its bare metal underneath which was rust free. And should I reglue the area I peeled back? Do I have to keep that horse hair material to put if back on or could I use dynomatting? Should I bother taking the padding material off on the interior side of the firewall? My dad said there wont be rust under there and I would just mess up the padding by taking it off. Also is there a rep…

Looking for the left lower rear fender (behind the rear left wheel), part # 30-7311 from MSA, for my 78' 280. I know this part has been on back order for months from Tabco but I'm wondering if anyone has an alternate source. Tabco supplies VB also so they'aint the way to go. Any thoughts?

I changed hood hinges on my '71 240Z. I got them from someone on Classic ZCar. When you close the hood, the front of the hood sticks up above the H/L buckets about 3/8". I have adjusted them as far down as they will go. (The hinges are against the bumper mount) I can push on the hood and get it to go down where it belongs but it pops back up once I take the pressure off. I do not know where these hood hinges came from. Are there differences between the 240-260-280 hinges? Anyone experienced this before? Solution?

Hi, all. I have a '78 Z with dealer-installed rear window louvers. I'm thinking about removing them. Were they actually glued to the glass? It looks like one long strip at the top (where it's hinged) and two shorter strips on each side for the locks. They must be glued on really well because they've lasted 27 years. Is it something I can do? Or am I getting myself in trouble by trying. Would the glass need to be replaced? There is no problem with the louvers. I'm just not a louver kind of guy.

I'm in deep on my '71 resto and while looking through the parts catalog noticed two rubber sealing strips indicated for the sides underhood(where the hood mates to the fender lip)...I've been looking through manuals, miscellaneous pics, etc. to see where these seals should be installed...I haven't seen any pics yet showing these under the hood...I know about the hood to cowl seal but haven't seen any threads discussing these... Does anyone know about or have these rubber seals on their ride? Thanks... :beard:

When removing the door handles I found that there are 2 rubber gaskets that seal the handle to the door on my 240. Are these available anywhere? I looked in VB's catalog and didn't see them.
