After cementing the door weatherstip should I leave the doors open till the adhesive dries or should I close the doors? Does it even matter?

]My tub is finished with the exception of where the rotisserie was and final buffing. They guys a re leaving it on the rotisserie and trailering it to my shop. Now the hard work begins! The body/paint guy will do the fenders, doors, hatch, hood, etc, over the next month and have it ready when the car is back on it's wheels. The engine should be finished in a couple of weeks. I will put those pieces together as time allows. It will be a busy spring and summer for this old racer.

Is there a special tool required to remove the metal trim and molding around the windows? If not, what is the recommened procedure to remove the trim without damaging it? A few scratches will be OK since I plan on blacking it out anyway. Also, what type of solvent should be used to remove any sealant around the moulding? New paint job in the works and I'm going to do all the prep work I can...thanks.

Very shortly my car will be stripped down to nothing. Currently all that is left is the suspension brakes and wheels. I have been thinking about this for a long time but I could not come toa decision. My car has about average rust, small <1" hole in fender, sparce surface rust, you know how it goes. There is the factory paint job and then another paint job on top that. I plan on having the car painted. I think I am going to do paint removal and priming by myself to save money and because I would like to try it myself. I will be coordinating with m paint shop on this. But for paint removal what is the best method? I have read sand blasting not desireable for it deforms …

I'll be stripping down to the unibody and welding in new floors and patches and wondered if it was best to strip off all the existing paint, while removing undercoating and rust. One thought led to another and I starting looking into places that will dip the who vehicle. Sure enough, for $1000 ($$$$$) a place will dip the whole unit. All the paint, rust, undercoat (everything not metal) will be GONE!! Ready for patch/prime. Anyone ever done this? I realize, though, afterwards, the original sound deadening in the hatch would be gone and would need replacement if intending to make 'original'. Is that stuff even available? Anyone ever done the dip?

I'm on to a 78 that I may purchase that was originally this color. The car does need to be re-painted. My question is who carries this original paint color? Will the paint and body shop be able to find it or do I need to purcahse this myself through Nissan and bring it to the shop? Also, if the body shop can order it, how do I know that it is actually the correct black pearl and not from Billy Bobs Paint and Pork Products? Thanks

Hi, I dont have many posts on here but I am one of the "quite ones." I pour over this site for hours on end reading posts, looking at posts, etc. Let me make a very LONG story short and explain my situation. I lost $1000 to a body and paint man who has done work for my father for about 3 years. He supposedly spent $477.00 on supplies, he did bring us a receipt but I have seen no supplies. Anyways he need the other 500 to contract out the sandblasting and metal work. Well that was 3 months ago and he has skipped town, haven't heard from him in weeks. I actually drive around looking for this SOB just to beat him with a lead pipe Anyways I am looking for someone to do thi…

hey guys, i was in an accident not too long ago and as a substitute fender i bought a 50 dollar fender not in the best of shape and had it put on so the car was driveable around town. i'm thinking about getting the car painted now and i was wondering if i went with a fiberglass fender on one side might throw off the suspension or the handling or anything odd like that? next i was wondering if i were to go with both fenders and the hood in fiberglass would that cause the front of my z so point up in the air because of the lightened weight in the front or could it cause anything else wierd to happen? thanks for your time, brian <broken74>

Hi all ya'll again. I recently bought a front air dam from MSA (this one) and I was wondering if there was any place on the internet with some kind of instructions on how to put it on. I know how to take off the factory part and I would most likely know how to put the new one on without any instructions. But I thought I would try to get some ideas first. Thanks for any answers.

Hello, I have a question about [63140-78500] "Nut- joint retainer" I attached this photo, inside of my Z's right front fender, below the side marker. http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/frontfenderclip.html Are these clips(nuts) applied correctly?I am wondering they might be up-side down.I replaced these last year, still they were available from the local Nissan. If you know about this, please let me know. P.S. I revised some small items in my web site. Thank you, kats
