Looking at the most recent upload of that Z with the T-Tops, I was wondering how it affects the structural integrity of the early Z. I know the ZX's had them everyday, but to me that's a whole different car. What are some opinions on the T-Tops. Our cars weren't designed for T-Tops so I'm thinking this is not a good idea. But then again our cars weren't designed for V-8's but that's been done. What are some of your thoughts. Vicky

I just got my weatherstripping kit from Victoria British and I can't figure out how to install the door pieces. I ordered the set for the 260Z. There is one sharp curve in the door weatherstripping, and a flap of rubber that runs about 18" along the weatherstripping that extends out beyond the strip itself by about 2 inches. This broad flap has a notched edge; looks like it hooks onto something. It appears that this sharp bend goes either in the lower or upper corner of the door on the side with the striker plate. I'm hoping someone who's installed this set before can help me figure out how this fits on the door! Thanks in advance

More bondo over rust!!! Now I have to remove the rear sight shield which is over the rear bumper . It looks to be spot welded but with the angle it is at I am not sure how to go about removing it? Also what type of paint can be used on the rear trim panel around the tail lights? Learning the hard way but still having fun. Thanks Jim M

i got a 76 280z 2+2, not much rust that ive seen so far except the rocker panels and a little on the rear panel before the rear wheel. i've checked MSA and VB but neither of them sell panels for the 2+2. i found a body shop that will cut it out and form new pieces to fit in. they want $2500 to do that and smooth out all the small dings, sand it down to the metal and do a color change to black. but i'd rather get replacement panels so i know they'll be closer to excact. anybody know where i can look or have any other suggestions. also does anyone know the difference in length and wieght for coupe vs. 2+2? i appreciate any help.

I gave up trying to salvage the paint because of too many small bubbles in paint ect. ect. While stripping the roof I noticed the crack in the paint at the seam. They filled it with bondo along with 2 coats primer followed by more primer and paint. I figured too much to paint over anyway. But how should I fill the seam ( which looks to be deeper and wider than it should) so the new paint does not crack? Thanks for all of your help during this project. Jim M.

Here's what is (was) under mine after I chipped it off. This is what is estentially a rust free South Texas car. I hacked this all out last night. So now I am putting in new 3X2X11 Gauge tubing "subframe connectors" to replace the frame rails and a new floor. Lots of welding ahead. Rust at the frame rail seams .. And cracked frame rail at the passenger side firewall. This didn't start happening until I started autocrossing my car.

I'm in the process of welding in new front and rear fender panels on my '72 240Z. There are also a number of very small rust spots around the rear wheel arches, and along the front of the hood. They range in size from about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in diameter. Is it possible to simply clean them as best I can, perhaps apply phosphoric acid (like Ortho) and spot weld some new metal on top, and have a repair that won't bubble through in a few years? The alternative is to cut each or them out and weld in a small patch. Anyone have any experience along these lines? Many thanks. Bob
