When applying POR-15, do you put it on the inside or outside of your car? My Z was & still is pretty solid accept for some very little cosmetic rust spots here & there. My floor boards were getting wet until I put a cover over it. Since then I have pull ALL of the carpet out and noticed that the boards were still solid. It hadrust coloring though. Should I pour the POR 15 there or under the floor boards? I was planning on getting it painted & treated around July or Aug. Should I wait until then or do it now? I'm also ready to get it tagged up & ready for the spring.

I was trying to remove the bolt for the passengers seat belt and this is what happened.. removed more than I expected... Rust has gone through both the inner and outer rockers, and has gone up the door jamb.

I will be looking at a '71 tomorrow that has a vinyl top. The owner says that there are 4 or 5 bumps under the vinyl that he suspects are rust from water leaking in, although he said that there were no cracks or splits in the material. Sounds like a risky proposition. Any way to check out the condition under the vinyl without ripping it off? Or is this a buyer beware situation?

Is there a good way to remove the emblems from the Z without breaking the tabs, or would getting the car painted without removing the emblems be advisable to avoid breaking them? Thanks, Victor.

I looked through the archives and couldn't find any info on this. What temperatures are acceptable to have por-15 cure at? I might put off doing the underside painting until I have some time off this December. It doesn't usually get down to freezing in Dallas that early, but usually 40s-50s during the day. Will this be too cold to paint without heating up the garage some? Andrew

Hi all, Well i'm getting close to painting the car, and i'm getting close to picking a colour. Main question I still can't totally answer is what paint. 2 pack has great advantages, fantastic shine off the gun, good wear & tear, but from what I understand if it gets scratched you have to re-spray the whole panel. On the other hand acrylic lacquer or single pack, allthough it requires buffing to bring up that great shine is relatively easy to repair in the event of scatches or the like. I would appreciate your opinions on this as it is a big expense and something I would prefer to do right the first time. Alan.

Just bought a '72 series II (today actually) but the only real problem with the car body wise is the hood release cable broke off a few weeks back and thus.....can't open the hood due to the spring...I was wondering how to well, open the hood if the cable is inoperative.....the sooner the better b/c I need to check the oil level and carbs need adjusting BAD (hestiates under load and will stall after getting warm) Thanks in advance.

I've been looking at Z's quite awhile now and I can't figure something out. Is the G Nose and overfenders on 240ZG dark grey or black?

I'm looking at buying this car from a fellow member, howeever I would like some advice on the following picture. the crease marks on the underside this bonnet towards the front suggest to me that the bonnet has been folded over in an accident of some kind? Right or wrong?

I just found out that my 73 z has about 5 inches of rust on the bottom part of the back of the frame rail attaching it to the rest of the frame. I thought I checked the whole car before buying but oh well. I will try to post a picture of it. I dont know what to do, I have never had any rust repair experience and was wondering what the first steps should be... Thanks
