Not so much a problem, as a pain in the a$$ I've removed the front bumper on my 77. I'm now staring at the 2 strut-like apparatus' (apparati?). These are held by 3 bolts on a bracket. These are a COMPLETE bitc& to even begin to deal with. I can't tell whether the nuts (17mm) are welded to the brackets(?). I can't get these, or the 14mm bolts to friggin budge (I'm speaking of the ONE that I can even get a wrench on.) I'm half tempted to torch 'em off. Being a 77, I'm wondering: 1) Are these strut looking things readily available from MSA or VicBrit? 2) If it even matters, since 77's likely won't ever be THAT valuable as a collector. Hi people, I just joined this forum, this is my first post. I just bought a 73 240z last week to tinker with. I had a 78 280z when i was in highschool and regreted getting rid of it since. So I finally got around to getting another Z. My question is: I'm not sure if these are stock bumpers or not correctly installed or what, but i can't open the hood all the way. about half way up the hood hits the top peice of the bumper. It's like the bumper is to close. There is a pic below anyone know why this is? TIA Steve

While taking apart my rear bumper I noticed most of the bolts were rusted pretty bad. Now the bumper is going to the platers to get a new finish. But what do I do with the bolts? If I plate those will I have to chase the threads? Or should I try and find new bolts that have some kind of plating already on them?

Was driving on some muddy roads yesterday and noticed that splashes were getting into engine compartment up on the inner fenders, etc. Did 240s come with any metal splash guards underneath the front suspension and engine compartment? Thanks, Victor.

I am not very familiar with 240 body part terminology, so I'll try to describe adequately. There are several open holes on the raised rectangular tubes running longitudinally along the underside of the floor pan. Are these holes(approximately 1/2 inch diameter) supposed to be open(for drainage?) or should they have a plug in them? These are not the larger floor pan holes with the rubber plugs that are on the flat surface of the floor pan. Thanks, Victor.

The car looked great when it got here, supposedly "rust free" and "dent free" and "running great," but this was not the case. I'm a little short on time, so I cant give a full explanation of all the things I found wrong with it, but I will post more when I get home later tonight. One of the things that concerned me the most was the deformation of the drivers side frame rail, so I am attaching that picture right now. What do you guys think about it?
