should I have someone weld in new floors and patches in places that need replacing, or should I do it after it gets media blasted inside and out? also, if I find a place that will spray a coat of primer, how much would I need?

I'm doing my first Z restoration. I removed the front and rear suspension and fuel tank. There is no rust underneith the car except for some minor surface specks close to the rear bumber mount. Can I just wash it and call it good OR do I need to strip the entire undercoating /paint, then repaint and reundercoat?

The driver's side nearly came off in one piece....much easier than passenger. Did not find any in the hatch area.... Posted my new pics in gallery as it stands. Would you POR-15 the hatch area as well? What did you use for the seams along the floorboard by your feet? Whatever Datsun used came up in white pieces. Interested in your feedback..... Thanks

On the picture below it shows that the Z has no door handles! Ive see it on hot rods aswell, and was wonder what is the presess in doing this? and how is the door opened? ive come up with idears but was wondering how is it actualy done, and if anyone has done it? Cheers

does anyone out there know how hard it is to replace the floor in a 280z and also do the rocker panel . i checked out a 280 and the engine is solid but there is a bit of a rust problem. i talked to my friend who owns a body shop and he said it would be alot of work to stop all the rust

I saw a show last night on the Discovery channel. It was a documentary about the stolen car problems we have here in the US. One piece of advice they mentioned was self-window-etching kits. These kits allow you to etch all of the windows in your car with serial numbers. Point? Car thieves usually don't replace all of the windows in a car because it's too expensive. If they see window etching, they usually move on. This is, at least, true about the thieves stealing the cars for use in a chop shop. Has anyone seen these kits around?

Drove it home today. First time I have ever driven a Z31. Not bad actually. Wasn't getting on it or anything as it has 1 YO gas in it and the oil looks like road tar. Just wanted to get it home and start treating it like a Z. Even driving it reather anemically, it surprised me at how little of a 'boat' it was. It is quite an agile car, even with the power steering (which is Quite stiff). You turn the wheel a bit and it points its nose down sharp into the direction you want to go. I can't wait to get it in a condition where I am confident 'driving' it. Anyways.... this is in 'Body and Paint' because.... I am taking off the horribly faded and peeling door guards. T…

hi ALL! currently working on my 11/71 '73 240z has lots of rust but most of htem are only surface rust, wel my question is i was planning on sandblasting the whole shell, but i do not know what kind of grit or material to use i've looked online and there seems to be a bunch of them:GLASS BEAD,ALUMINUM OXIDE(imported/domestic), SILICON CARBIDE, GARNET, NUTSHELLS....ETC. anyone have any suggestions on waht i should use? i wanthte shell bare metal i have attached some pics so you guys can see some of my problems, the pics are before i stripped most of the car i will post my whole project soon on my website
