With my roll cage I want to put a bar behind the dash, or else I'll have to install it infront of it which would be too intrusive. Has anyone else done this? Any problems, pictures? Thanks guys, I love how everyone responds so quickly and helpfully. Great site this is. -David

Hey, i got my Z and i want to change a few things,possibly gonna do this all this winter, along with the floor and stuff....anyways, The chrome that goes around the windows and stuff, i want that to be black....How do i go about doing this....thanks guys...u guys are rrealy helpful to everyone who needs help Good Work guys.

On my '78 280Z, the driver's side window squeegees are still slightly pliable (or at least i think so) and the pass. sides ones look & feel like they're made of aluminum! Not to mention the splits, too. Arren't they supposed to be flexible rubber things? I should plan on changing them, if so- keeps the water out.

What was the original paint color for the engine block ? I believe the head stays unpainted ? Mine is not painted and I want to make it look as correct as possible. Thanks Brobob:stupid:

Hey, my 240Z emblem on the hatch isn't connected on one side, the otehr side is good, but it will kinda rotate to a down position if u bump it or something like that...so i was wonderin how do i get it to stick properly..And does anyone know how much a body kit type thing will cost for a 240Z just curious not really thinking about puttin one on...well kinda anyways...thanks

Scanning through the numerous picture of 240Zs on this site and others I've noticed a difference between some cars: On the front guard panel (UK:wing), cars may or may not have a turn signal. All cars have turn signals below the front bumper but not all have the extra one on the guard. Is the presence of absence of this signal related to the year of manufacture or the market the car was sold in? Something else?

Hello everyone. Has anybody tried to remove paint from the plastic hood vent louvers that came with the 77-78 280Z? I need some advice as to what is the best way to remove the paint without hurting the plastic. Obviously harsh chemicals are not the answer. Thank you in advance.

Hello, my 240Z had some rust holes in the floor buti fixed em just by partching them up, for now. This winter or next spring, i want to put new floor boards in, and the rails that go under teh floor boards should in my mind be replaced aswell so i won't have to do it at a later date, i want my car to have many more enjoyable dayZ ahead....ok no more babbaling... Cuttin out the old board i understand, but this rail underneath i have had the car all jacked up and took a look at it i can kinda see where it is connected to the frame? (i'm not to sure if this is what it is) and it appears that it is welded in, so how do i go about romovien this? And do i need to remove anythin…

Must I drop the Gas tank before removing the bumper mounts? I can see no other way to finagle them out, but have limited knowledge of these cars. Any alternate ideas?

I am stripping out my 280Z for repainting. I tried to take out the front screen last night in the way described in Haynes but cracked it:( Before I try and get the replacement screen out of my parts car .... any advice??? Thanks

I just installed an msa air dam on my 240z and i have a question about what turn signals i should use instead of the stock ones. The air dam is the same one as pictured on the home page of this site, and i wish that i had thought of cutting holes in it like the owner of that Z did. I ask because in the msa catalog there are a couple of cars pictured with the same air dam that have thier turn signals between the top of the air dam and hood. This was my intention from the start to install turn signal just like that. I just wandered if there was a particular signal light used perhaps from a different year Z.

Recently I gave up my 65 VW bug and decided to buy a Datsun Z...which one I havent decided yet but I'm leaning towards a 280..now I know the front air dams are not stock but i have NO idea where I can look for/buy them...also I was looking on eBay and saw a Z with IMSA fender flares where would I obtain these... and an air dam/flares in the following style http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/events/0209scc_zcar14_zoom.jpg
