I've been driving my new 240 around for a few days now and have noticed an awful lot of clunking and creaking. I've just bought the Z Therapy video and I'll get round to changing the bushings over one day - that should sort out the clunking. I'm a bit concerned about the creaking though, while it seems to be coming from the interior decorative paneling which does not have all of its plastic rivets in place surely the cause of it is the body flexing. How much 'flexing' should a 240 do before I should worry? I'm not driving like a maniac, quite the opposite since I wrote off the 260 last weekend. I'm driving it like a Volvo with a fish sticker in the rear window.

I have been to PepBoys, AutoZone, OSH, and Home Depot looking for something very similar to the gaskets Nissan used for our tool doors behind the front seats. That "U" cross section is just about perfect for what I need to use it for. It could be black rubber or vinyl - that much doesn't matter to me. I need it for a different application and was looking for four 3' sections. Any idea on where I could get something like this? -e

I've got some 6x9 pioneers mounted in the storage bin.. a problem is that the carpet that goes over the speakers dampens the sound, if you were to mount in the storage bin, you might consider customizing the carpet to free up the speakers.

I asked a similiar question earlier but now am thinking that a 240Z dash might become available or a 280Z dash. My 280Z dash is evidently not there. I looked under my dash cap to see how bad it was and was shicked to find there WAS NO DASH! It looks like someone has sawed out the top of the dash and then covered with a cap. At least I have easy access to my dash lights now. I want to keep my options open. Will a 240Z dash fit on a '75 280Z? Complications?

Ahahah... you are so curious! I have no pict of it but I may have a tips for you. I was looking at the MSA pictures and while some peoples went very far on the sport or custom look, I was a little disappointed by the side mirror looks on their cars. I am also a motorcycle nut and I encourage you to check the mirrors the superbikes have. We have some really nice shape here and they have (for my taste of course) the right size for a car like a Z. With a nice tricky look, but not too busy… This is just another option! Just my 0,10 euro, Fred

Today I have checked out 2 x 1971 240's. One was a a very sad example despite being advertised as an immaculate original and the second was in excellent condition with nothing but a little bit of bubbling on the passengers sill. The battery box and inside the wheel arches are fine. However, there is a crack in the paint between the quater light and the rear hatch fairly close to the top of the hatch. There does not appear to be any distortion in the shape of the rear of the car and the area around the crack is solid. Could this just be a crack in the paint caused by age or is it symptomatic of something more serious. If anyone has any ideas please let me know ASAP as I a…

I was wondering if anyone else had one of these wheels. I came across an add in an import car mag that advertised removable steering wheels, like they use in most forms of pro racing. I checked their site and sure enough they made a connecting hub for the 240. I got the wheel really because i thought it was cool, and when in my 240 i get this idea that i'm some sorta race car driver. But anyway the quality of the leather wheel is very good in my opinion and whats more i can take it off and no one can steal my car with out it. Of course anything is possible but what car thief carries a spare steering wheel (the company does say that you need the exact hub to put another wh…

I have a set of used European 240Z tail lights (not the 5 bulb Japanese taillights). The way they work now is that both to top outer bulb in the red lens and the bottom bulb in the yellow lens flash with the turn signals and hazards. This doesn't seem right to me, as I thought only the bulb in the yellow should flash with the turn signal/hazard. Maybe someone just used the wrong bulb socket harness on these lights before I got them? Anyone know for sure how they are supposed to work?

Has anyone used a series II 240Z console in a Series I? I'm looking for the forward location of the shifter hole as I am using a T5 from an 83 turbo ZX in my 71 240. If it will fit, what was done with the fuse block? Does anyone have a junk console I could tr to see if it would fit? I'm in NJ. Thanks. Joe
