Does anyone know who makes decent front speakers for the early z's..I'm looking to put an Alpine head unit in that puts out 50watts x 4 and combine that with a 10inch sub enclosure..Any thoughts? Ak

Just got the word, and cuz I can't do it myself, I must rely on my local Z specialist. Floor pans, rails, and rocker panels all need replacing on my baby. I'm looking around 2K to replace all. Is this worth doing on a 30 year old car? Hard to say. I've had it 10 years, had just a ton of fun with it. I'm planning on having the work done. Just wanted to vent. Please remember, this amount is in Canuck bucks, so all you Yanks, half the amount before telling me I'm crazy.

Can anyone tell me a good procedure for aligning my doors? I tried doing them last weekend, but I didn't fare too well. Plus, the top bolt on the driver's side door catch snapped off :-( How about what hardware is needed to mount bumper overriders and how to do it? I don't feel like "winging" that one, especially the rear! :-)

What kind and thickness of metal should I buy to patch up body panels like the fender? Can I just go down to ACE hardware and pick up a sheet of whatever is handy? I posted a thread about welding and found out I'll be able to get my hands on a MIG welder but I guess it'd be good to find out what kind of metal I should be using to weld on to the car Thanks!

so i've been fixing my door, and i'm going to be replacing the latch, but while i was at it, i decided to see if there was anything i could do for the inside door handle. its supposed to be pulled tight by the rod with the spring on it, right? well, it is very loose, it works alright, but i don't want to put the door back together and have it rattling and maybe coming off entirely. how can i tighten that rod so that my handle is tight? i hope i made sense in all that. does this maybe have something to do with not being able to lock my door easily? thanks!

im looking at a Z tonight for $1500. All around its in pretty good condition but she says that there is some rust on the quarter panels...is that an easy/cheap fix? Should i be concerned about it? I am going to repaint the car soon, so i guess i could just get replacements. I am going to check the obvious rust spots. Any thoughts?

I went to do an evaluation of my car for the insurance, and while I was crossing the Champlain bridge in Montreal, a pick-up truck lost 2 big estie de tabarnak de carpets in front of me. I have no experience at welding, so I'm wondering whats the best welder for body panels? Or if I need to minor door repair welding? If i'm going to cut into the car to weld sheet metal in, would a MIG be best? I have a friend with an arc welder that I might be able to have him help me but he was saying that the sheet metal might be too thin. errr... And then my friend mentioned propane torches? Then theres wirefeed? I'm confused Little help?

I have a 71 240Z in need of body repair. Mostly the front end (minor fender bendr) and some rust elsewhere. Still at the mechanics but should be ready for body work soon. I would appreciate any gfood or bad experiences with shops in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Also, where a o good place to get replacement body parts, front fendewrs, hood, bumper, etc.?
