I've seen pics on the 'net where white faced gauges were installed in the Z dash. Looked bitchin' IMHO. I've since found several varieties, but haven't come accross anyone making dual gauges like the ones currently in the dash. Don't want to give up any instruments, so if anyone has a clue where to find them... Thanx, 'Fink

I need to replace my seats and because I drive the car for distances, as there is no direct route to or from Idaho, I want to put something more comfortable with more support. I also would like to find a replacement out of a junk yard because of the cost. Any ideas or recommendations??? Keith

For those of you who are interested, (and don't already know?), there is an article on the ZParts website entitled "Illustrated SU Carburator Article". Depending upon your internet access and PC, the illustrations may take a little time to load, but they are worth the wait. Go to www.zparts.com and scroll down the page to the 12-18 post for 2001 under the "Featured Photo Displays and Tech Articles".

I've seen several decent looking electric and manual folding regtops on West Coast cars(not any z's though) and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this..Has anyone else seen these, and has anyone seen any on a z ? I'm considering this mod for my 74 but don't want to ruin the integrity of the unibody frame.. Ak

Just installed on my 77. I looked at several different options (ie. Recaros, Corbeaus, transplants from other compacts, etc.). I decided that the folks who designed the Z know a little about style and scale. I opted to give my originals an updated look, without bastardizing the balance. Furthermore, no wrestling with trying to make brackets and sliders work (regardless of what the seat mfg'rs say, I know it would be a sweatfest trying to get non-Z seats in). Whattya think?

I knew there was some cancer, but man! the joys of a rebuild! me again. This '70 rebuild for my son is now pretty much totally, I mean TOTALLY stripped, but I have a few issues that, believe it or not, have actually caused me to question whether we should go further. I never thought it would happen. There have been several bolts that were so locked in with rust, that I stripped the heads off while trying to remove them. Now I have drilled some out, which is very risky in damaging the threads of the nuts, but the ones I'm not sure what to do with, are the front fender, under rocker panel bolts. Two per side, all heads off, rusted solid, no easy access. Any s…

Does anyone know the name of the tool used to remove the omega (?) clips on the window regulator handle?

To those of you who have used the POR-15 I have a couple questions. 1. Did you spray it or did you brush it on. 2. If you did spray it, did it need to be thinned or was it OK out of the can. 3. I am wondering if this stuff is going to be impossible to clean out of the threads of the body mounting nuts if it is sprayed in there. As hard and permanent as they say it is I am wondering if it will be hard to chase the threads with a tap if it were to get into the threads. Just wondering, since I have never used the POR-15 I don't want to find out the hard way. I guess I really haven't decided to use it on my 71, or save it for another job.

I recently purchased a 280z and was happily driving it home from work on the second day when I blew a brake line. I went sliding down the nice wet hill and hit a truck. I have now replaced the fender and the hood but I can't seem to get the hood to sit properly. The inner fender was crused in the impact (where the hood mount goes) and I flattened it out best I could, took careful measurements from the other side and drilled new mounting holes. Not as pretty as I like but it is the best I could do. The front of the hood sits to high though, about a quarter of an inch. What really buggers me about it is that it is even on both sides, both the drivers (crunched) and pa…

Is there anywhere on a '77 that has the paint code stamped on? Or is there any other way to find out if the car has the original color still on it? I have the code for the car I am looking at but wish to verify that it is the original color. Thanks.
