Hi, I'm about to buy my first 240z. Its a 1970. Everything looked great on it, then I noticed some rust at the passenger side door. The first bit I saw was on the metal cord that runs down the door jam. It was originally wrapped in vinyl or some sort of coating. The coatin has been seperated and there is some pretty serious flaking inside. I asked the owner about it and he pointed out that this wasn't part of the frame, and would be easy to fix. I then looked underneath that area and saw there was a little more rust. This wasn't nearly as bad as that mentioned before. I think tha it could probably be fixed without putting new metal in. Any thoughts on this? Do you think…

Greetings all Z people! I am looking to buy my first Z after many years of wanting one. I am looking at HLS30363248, '77 Manual. The car is in decent condition, the rails and floorboards are nearly rust free but the car does have surface rust and missing front hood emblem. The interior looks 25 years old but the clock works. Anyway, I am wondering about the A/C. Did all these cars come with A/C and if not, how can you tell if it is factory or not. This car has a compressor on/off switch down in front of the gear shift to the far right of the hazard light switch and rear defrost switch. The thing that makes me wonder is the switch rocks left to right, instead of ba…

Unlike the US cars the UK 240Z and many European models had the front indicators on the bumpers. Does anyone know why some cars had them ontop of the front bumper whilst others had them below? There doesn't seem to be a logical pattern as to which year of cars had them. Just curious to hear if anyone knows why there is a variation? Thanks in advance.

I own a '70 Z that was stripped and restored, no rust. It was a west coast car, but now I own it in the east where Z's rust. I am thinking about undercoating it with off the shelf undercoating, or, having it professionally ziebarted. Some people tell me I don't need to do either. Opinions?

I have a 240z that was stripped and rebuilt (rust free) on the west coast. Now I have it, in Virginia where Z's rust. I have thought about spraying it with off the shelf undercoating, or having a professional ziebart job, but most people tell me I dont need to. What are your opinions? And why?

Recently bought a low mi 77 280Z with original, non cracked dash. It has a clean butterscotch interior with non split vinyl basketweave seats. What is the best way to care for these two sensitive ares? What products should I use to clean and replace the 'juices' so they don't dry out???

Is there a good way to re-paint the black background on emblems? Mine have good chrome, but the flat black parts are faded and chipped... seems like a waste to just get new ones

I'm starting to realize what I'm in for with my "new" 77 280. I'm evaluating painting the vehicle, and I'm learning that in order to do it right, I need to take everything off (trim, etc.). Is the following readily available (MSA, Restore Zone,....): - Rubber molding around the front / rear windows - "chrome" trim around wheel wells What else should I be prepared to purchase (I'll be replacing the badges, I know) More questions will immediately follow under new threads...

Can someone tell me what the width of a stock 240z is? I would like to know if one will fit in my trailer. I have been searching the internet for some time, with no luck. Thanks, Gene
