I just bought this 77 280z and have been trying to figure out if the paint and the strips in particular are original. I was told the paint was original (and it looks it) but I have yet to find a 77 280z with the same stripes. I have a feeling the stripes are after market but unsure. Any thoughts or insight would be much appreciated.

Ran across this today. I couldn't find whole quarters from tabco so i googled and found these. http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-rear-quarter-panel-set-nissan-fairlady-z-s30-s31.html These are made in Japan so quality should be good. Only problem is they're made for the fairladys smaller bumpers. Perhaps no problem for the 240z's but the 280z need work to fit bigger bumpers. The S31 quarters would be for the 260-280z style tail lights. They sell them as a set. At current exchange rates that 346 usd each. Thats before shipping however. Thought i'de pass this along since aftermarket suppliers on these old rust buckets are drying up. They sell new whole d…

I bought several rubber seals from vintagerubber.com before i painted my car. However after a year of installed i have found some of them broken due to bad installation or quality. Any better source for quality and fit?

My 1972 240z has both the original bumpers and bumper guards. I have already rechromed the 4 bumper guards and they were finished nicely. Nevertheless, the chrome on the rear bumper on my 1972 240z is already worn due to its age and lack of maintenance of its previous owners. Is it recommedable to rechrome the full bumper or should i buy a new one. The shop that rechromes in Panama charges US$275.00 and needs the cut the bumper as it does not fit completely in the chroming tub. I have read that the new ones have issues and are made in taiwan and not the same size and quality as the original ones. Is this true? They also have fitting issues!

Can anyone help me ID this front lip? It came with my 72' when I bought it and it's painted to match, but when I hold it up under the front, I don't see how it could possibly line up. There seems to be some lettering on it as well.

Just got my car back from the paintshop and noticed that even though they covered the dashboard during the paint procedure, my car got really dusted and i found some tracer of spray paint on top of the dashboard! Anyone knows of any product that can help me remove the paint without damaging the dashboard of my 72 240z? in the picture shown you can notice that there was a tape that covered one space the rest is sprayed. Thinner or varsol????

Yesterday was a rainy day. Drove my 240z for a while and discovered 2 water leaks on the rear window. All my gaskets are new and were bought to vintage rubber which is supposed to be high quality. How can i fix this???

My DIY windshield replacement project is off to a rough start. This evening I went about installing the new Precision gasket before doing anything on the the car. Once I got across the top I felt I had a problem but went ahead and pushed the rest of the gasket on thinking the arc in the glass would take up the slack. It did not! If anyone has a windshield sitting around can you give me some reference measurements? I need to find out the glass is too small or the gasket is too big. The windshield is a FYG piece that is made in China, part# FW241. Based on what I can find this a good quality replacement and a seller on Ebay has sold 56 of them. Any help with some me…

hey all, I am bolting both front fenders back on my 71 240z project today, and I can't remember where these funky L spacers go? I know they came off the front fenders because I bagged and tagged them with the rest of the fender hardware during removal 12 years ago and I have 2 of them per fender. But to much time and too many beers ago, so any help here will be a start and thank you.
