I have the “dealer option” Racing mirrors on my 240Z. The ball joint on the 44 year old driver side mirror body was getting loose and would not hold position while driving. It finally got so loose I was worried it might fall off if I hit a pot-hole. I removed the mirror, and discovered the hole in the mirror body had worn / enlarged to the point that I could easily pull the ball out of the mirror body! I tried a few “easy” fixes, but none really worked, and decided a better solution was required. So I fabricated a plate that fits over the posts inside the mirror, having a central hole smaller than the ball joint diameter. To get it over the…

This is a link to some pics that gnosez posted about 4 yrs ago, I have been looking for these for weeks so I thought I would put them up. Lots of great visual information, thank you gnosez. http://s160.photobucket.com/user/psanders240/library/BSR-260Z-IMSA?sort=3&page=1

I can't find any information about how much additional length a rotisserie (of any brand) adds to the length of the car. I have a fairly short garage with a workbench on one end, so I need it to be less than 22' to work, and that's with no room to walk around it. Does anyone have one mounted up that they could measure for me?

Hi everyone I am sorry to post but I can not find my answer in a search in the forum. I have a 1975 that I am in the process of repainting and I pulled the front and rear windows this weekend but I am having trouble trying to figure out how to remove the quarter windows. How do they come out? Are they like the front and rear windshields where it is held in by the seal? Or are they secured with bolts? Appreciate any help. There's been a bit of chatter over the last couple of days about positive results achieved with a needle scaler tool for the removal of tar-pad sound dampener from floor panels, and even undercoating from the car's underside surfaces. That's great information and looks the a a heck of ot more convenient than dry ice, CO2 blasting, scrapers, blow torches and heat guns! However, I'm interested in hearing about the use of this tool for cleaning and conditioning aluminum castings. I'm thinking specifically of the Z's valve cover and SU carb bells. In both cases, the parts don't lend themselves to blast cabinet treatment (because of the size of the part size in one cas…

What color and finish was this valve cover supposed to be originally? Is it a satin gray, or a wrinkle gray/green? Is there a color-code anywhere for it? Thanks in advance,

THe paint shop i hired to restore my car with 904 White PPG paint did a great job. However there are still some issues that were not solved such as: 1. They cannot fit the front bumper guards in the new front bumper i bought! Really weird. I have attached pictures of the bumper without the guards. I bought this bumper on EBay and was shipped from Canada. Shop argues there is some slight difference between the original front bumper and this one and that there is not enough clearance between the bumper guards and the front Hood. if the Hood is opened it touches the bumper guards. 2. Passenger and Driver doors do not close smoothly. You have to throw the doors with…

I need one for the passenger side (missing) and the one on the driver has a broken mount hole (common from what I read). So how do you guys like those billet ones that I read about? I am sure they have been around long enough to get some comment on fitment and function. The OE's look nice but not sure I need to worry about that level of originality on my DD. Thx Dave

I have a 1970 240, and there is damage to the front right frame where it meets the lower rad support. I am going to have to remove the whole rad support to correct. Does any one have some good dimensions for the rad support, so when I weld it up, I can correct the damage ?? Mike

I am having issues lining up the hood. The hood does not reach the lock on the firewall and my hood cable came off the hook that holds it to the frame. When I try and close the hood even though it's not locked and flush, the front of it is raised and not flush with the buckets. Things that I did: 1. raised the hood adjustment at the hood. 2. tried adjusting the lock on the frame. 3. tried adjusting the hook on the hood. Also how do I crimp the hood cable bracket on to the cable? Thanks

When I had my 73 painted, WAY back in 2008 (9?), I decided to get the front facing surfaces "3M"'ed with that clear bra stuff. Found a good little local shop with a guy and his wife starting out, and they did a great job. Across the hood up to the hump, front edge of the head light scoops, on each headlight and behind each wheel to catch gravel spray. Cost me ~$400 bucks. I keep it waxed and it still looks good (ie I pretty much forget it exists) to this day. I had it applied to a new Nissan Altima right after by the dealship and that was more like $800. Ouch. I has intrigued me for a couple years on and off and I decided to go buy some of this stuff and see just…
